Book excerpt: Se evalúan las características analíticas del método de determinación por espectrofotometría de absorción atómica de vanadio cobalto, molibdeno, selenio y cadmio en material vegetal, empleando como medio de atomización horno de grafito. Para ello se optimizaron inicialmente las condiciones instrumentales para la obtención de una buena precisión y adecuada sensibilidad así como de resultados exactos; se evaluaron los efectos interferenciales de los principales constituyentes de una matriz vegetal tanto en su acción individual como de conjunto; se eliminaron interferencias haciendo uso de recursos propios de la instrumentación utilizada; se estudió el tratamiento previo de la muestra vegetal y finalmente se determinó la precisión y exactitud de los métodos tanto a nivel instrumental como de la totalidad del procedimiento de análisis. Se evaluó además la técnica de generación de hidruros para la determinación de selenio en material vegetal como método alternativo de análisis.
