Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mankind is not some cosmological accident. A chance happening on a grand scale, no, mankind is an incomprehensible, creative delight of God with a destiny that far exceeds mankinds ability to understand. Glimpses of mankinds destiny are fl eeting at best, but fragments are seen on occasion when spiritual eyes have been opened to the unlimited possibilities of an expanded God-inspired mind. We must grow our mind to know God as He reveals Himself to us. This is vital. Education and knowledge are essential for life in the world. This book is about peace. Peace is obtained through knowledge and understanding of the divine nature of God and doing as He directs so that we become like Him. Mankind has been created by God to assume responsibility for assisting God in the management of His creation.

Book excerpt: “This book walks each of us through the reality checks we need in order to have the marriage we want!” —Shaunti Feldhahn, social researcher and best-selling author of For Women Only In today’s workplace, women are often rewarded for having type A personalities: driven, demanding, ambitious, and strong. Yet when it comes to their marriages, those same traits can backfire. After all, no one goes into marriage hoping for a promotion. What is a wife to do? April Cassidy knows this struggle firsthand. She thought she was a great Christian wife and begged God to make her passive husband into a more loving, involved, godly leader. Instead, God opened her eyes to changes that she needed to make, such as laying down her desire for control and offering genuine, unconditional respect—not just love—to her husband. Cassidy’s conclusions may be as startling to readers as they were to her, but The Peaceful Wife shares how she and many others have learned to reorient their lives to biblical commands—resulting in healthier, happier marriages. In the end, you’ll find The Peaceful Wife a powerful path to God’s design for women to live in full submission to Christ as Lord.

Book excerpt: God’s Divine Design for Dating and Marriage is an exhaustive answer to what God thinks about love and sexuality and provides a step-by-step process for building God-centered relationships. As they wandered through the wilderness, God provided Moses and the Israelites with instructions for the Tabernacle. More than a building, the Tabernacle was a sacred space for covenant. Its design provides modern believers with a blueprint for reflecting God’s glory through intimacy. You will: Gain the power to recognize and apologetically resist worldly images and messages about dating, marriage, and sexuality. Be entertained by biblical and modern examples of the best and worst of relationships, tracing problematic patterns that may be affecting your love life. Take a journey through the divinely-designed Tabernacle and learn to use its construction and symbolism as a systematic guide through seasons of singleness, courtship, and covenant. God’s Divine Design for Dating and Marriage is a beautiful blend of relevant facts, scriptural insights, relatable pop-culture references, and personal anecdotes that provide a strong case for following God’s divine design in all your relationships.

Book excerpt: Augustine's Early Thought on the Redemptive Function of Divine Judgment considers the relationship between Augustine's account of God's judgment and his theology of grace in his early works. How does God use his law and the penal consequences of its transgression in the service of his grace, both personally and through his 'agents' on earth? Augustine reflected on this question from different perspectives. As a teacher and bishop, he thought about the nature of discipline and punishment in the education of his pupils, brothers, and congregants. As a polemicist against the Manichaeans and as a biblical expositor, he had to grapple with issues regarding God's relationship to evil in the world, the violence God displays in the Old Testament, and in the death of his own Son. Furthermore, Augustine meditated on the way God's judgment and grace related in his own life, both before and after his conversion. Bart van Egmond follows the development of Augustine's early thought on judgment and grace from the Cassiacum writings to the Confessions. The argument is contextualized both against the background of the earlier Christian tradition of reflection on the providential function of divine chastisement, and the tradition of psychagogy that Augustine inherited from a variety of rhetorical and philosophical sources. This study expertly contributes to the ongoing scholarly discussion on the development of Augustine's doctrine of grace, and to the conversation on the theological roots of his justification of coercion against the Donatists.
