Book excerpt: Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Krieg und Frieden, Militär, Note: 1,3, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der seit Jahrzehnten andauernde Konflikt zwischen Israel und Palästina erscheint zuerst einfach zu verstehen zu sein, dennoch ist er zu gleicher Zeit von extremer Komplexität und seine Lösung von Aussichtslosigkeit geprägt. Einerseits betrachtet die jüdische Bevölkerung, deren Großteil im Jahr 70 n.Chr. von den Römern aus Palästina vertrieben wurde die Beanspruchung des Landes als legitim, da die Bibel dieses Land als ihre Heimat verbrieft. Des Weiteren berufen sie sich auf die im 1947 geschaffene völkerrechtliche Grundlage der Staatsgründung in Form des UN-Teilungsplans und auf ihr moralisches Recht auf einen eigenen Staat wegen der Leiden und Bedrohungen, die sie während des 20. Jahrhunderts ertragen mussten. Die arabische Bevölkerung argumentiert wiederum, dass Palästina seit dem 7. Jahrhundert ohne Unterbrechung eine Heimat arabischer Menschen und Kultur gewesen sei. Durch die Gründung Israels in 1948 entstand im Bewusstsein der palästinensischen Bevölkerung ein zunehmendes Nationalgefühl und das Verlangen nach einem organisierten Widerstand gegen die israelische Besatzung; es entstanden bewaffnete Gruppen, die den Kampf zur Befreiung Palästinas aufnahmen. Im Gegenzug ergriff der israelische Staat harte Maßnahmen um diesem Terrorismus ein Ende zu bereiten. Dies hat zu einer scheinbar endlosen Gewaltspirale geführt, die bis zum heutigen Tag anhält. In meiner Arbeit möchte ich erklären, wie sich der Terrorismus im Gebiet Palästinas etabliert hat. Um die Entwicklung vollständig zu verstehen, erachte ich es als wichtig die Geschichte der jüdischen Einwanderung nach Palästina bis zur Proklamation des Staates Israels zu analysieren, die wiederum auf den wachsenden Antisemitismus in Europa zurückzuführen ist. Um den Umfang der Arbeit nicht zu sprengen konzentriere ich mich in meiner Arbeit auf die Herausbildung der Terrororganisationen PLO, Fatah und Hamas, die mir am wichtigsten erscheinen. Auch eine jüdische Terrororganisation - die Irgun - möchte ich aus den folgenden Gründen ebenfalls erwähnen: Zum Einen ist die Irgun eine der ersten Terrororganisationen und diente zahlreichen weiteren Untergrundorganisationen als Vorbild. Zum Anderen hatte die zionistisch-revisionistische Untergrundorganisation spätere israelische Politiker und Ministerpräsidenten zum Mitglied und kann somit teilweise das radikale Vorgehen der israelischen Regierung gegen palästinensische Aufstände erklären.
