Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, Deliverance from the Sin of Gluttony is the seventh book in the series “Practical Helps for Overcomers”. The books in the series which are already written are • Book ONE: Deliverance from Sin • Book TWO: The Way of Sanctification • Book THREE: Consecrated and Sanctified for Spiritual Ministry • Book FOUR: The Seed, the Sower and the Hearts of Men • Book FIVE: Deliverance from the Sin of Adultery and Fornication. • Book SIX: You Can Receive a Pure Heart Today. • Book SEVEN: Deliverance From the Sin of Gluttony. The sin of gluttony is a serious matter. Due to a lack of teaching, other sins linked to the appetites such as the appetite for sex and alcohol are vigorously condemned when they are abused or when one indulges in them out of God’s will. However, the sin of gluttony which is uncontrolled indulgence in food is hardly ever mentioned. This is very unfortunate. We clearly affirm that the person who commits adultery once and the one who commits gluttony once are both walking in the flesh and are both condemned before God. If there is no place in the kingdom of God for the adulterer or the fornication who continues in his sin, it is certain that there will be no place in the kingdom of God for the glutton who continues in his sin of gluttony. That being the case, deliverance from the sin of gluttony becomes imperative. In this book we are not laying down rules for eating. Neither are we giving practical methods for reducing weight. We have rather shown the way that leads to the deliverer, the Holy Spirit, for He alone delivers the captives. May the Lord help you as you read, to enter into freedom from the worship of food, so that you may become a worshipper of the living God. This is imperative because no glutton can truly worship the living God. He can only be worshipped by people with pure hearts and who are filled with the Holy Spirit, gluttony prevents one from having a pure heart and from being filled with the Holy Spirit. We are very conscious of the fact that no one can deliver himself from gluttony. Do not try to set yourself free. If you try, you may succeed for some time but it will be short-lived. Surrender yourself with your problem to the Holy Spirit who lives in you and submit yourself to his treatment. He will succeed and then you too will succeed. You will be set free and your freedom will be permanent.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My own private opinion is that there is no such thing as preaching Christ and him crucified, unless you preach what now-a-days is called Calvinism. It is a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else. I do not believe we can preach the gospel, if we do not preach justification by faith, without works; nor unless we preach the sovereignty of God in his dispensation of grace; nor unless we exalt the electing, unchangeable, eternal, immutable, conquering, love of Jehovah: nor do I think we can preach the gospel, unless we base it upon the peculiar redemption which Christ made for his elect and chosen people; nor can I comprehend a gospel which lets saints fall away after they are called, and suffers the children of God to be burned in the fires of damnation after having believed. Such a gospel I abhor. The gospel of the Bible is not such a gospel. We preach Christ crucified in a different fashion, and to all gainsayers we reply. "We have not so learned Christ." (Charles Spurgeon)

Book excerpt: This book is a serious and powerful exhortation for the disciples to watch and imitate their Lord Jesus Christ, who should be the Only Focus of their lives. The author, Z.T. Fomum, makes sure he presents the Lord Jesus, during His earthly life, as a Lover who was ever thirsty for the presence of God. The Scriptures depict Him so. His multiple prayer retreats are clearly emphasised in support. Daily quiet time with God is properly explained in the book. These periods of the day invested in prayer and Bible meditation immerses the believer in a deep relationship with God and transform every aspect of his life and Christian walk. It is a statement of the secret of daily communication and communion with the living God. You will find examples and tips that will make it easy to practice the truths outlined in the book. The author published this book with the prayer that it should be used by the Lord to bless His children, to deepen their walk with Him; and to fulfill His purpose in man, so that man may know Him, that He should live in him and that man should find pleasure in Him forever!

Most questions about food aren’t really about nutrition but about how we understand God. In Broken Bread, Christian Book Award–winner Tilly Dillehay challenges us to abandon the concept of good and bad foods and instead offers a way to… celebrate food without obsession make healthy choices without bondage to rules feed our families without feeling frazzled find satisfaction without using food as an emotional crutch This isn’t another diet book. You won’t find any system or plan for eating but rather a joyful call to develop a vision of Christ that informs the way you eat. Take delight in food again, and discover a feast for today that whispers of the eternal feast to come.

Individuals think they're free from demonic bondage only to be blindsided by another oppressive force. But for New York pastor Alexander Pagani, one experience changed everything. He realized how demons lodge themselves in hidden areas of our lives. First, a demon can quite literally reside in an area of the body. Second, demons can live deep in the soul and remain undetected. Deliverance is like a labyrinth with trap doors, backward stairs, and secret rooms. In The Secrets to Deliverance Pagani shares biblical strategies and his own experiences for evicting the demons in the "rooms" of your soul and body. Featuring prayers and declarations, this book will instruct you how to strategically and powerfully overtake the enemy so that you can live the life God intended for you.

Millions desperate for hope and solutions are enticed by the promise of the prosperity gospel--that God will do whatever they need with just a little faith and a financial gift. All the while, prosperity preachers exploit the poor and needy to stockpile their riches. What can followers of the true gospel do to combat the deception? Through a remarkable and fascinating journey, Costi Hinn went from a next-generation prosperity preacher to the first to abandon the family faith and share the true gospel. Nephew of the world-famous televangelist, Benny Hinn, Costi had a front-row seat to the inner workings and theology of the prosperity gospel. But as Costi's faith deepened, so did his questions about prosperity teaching. As the deceptions in his past were exposed, Costi came face to face with the hypocrisy and devastation caused by his belief system, and the overwhelming truth about the real Jesus Christ. This captivating look into the daily lives of one of the world's leading prosperity dynasties offers a thoughtful perspective on the perils of greed, the power of the true gospel, and hope for the future of the global church. Through real-life stories, Costi challenges and equips readers to be living lights pointing the way to the true gospel and the saving grace of Christ. Book excerpt: Is gluttony just being an overly eager eater, and is it related to being obese? Gluttony comes in many forms, and many people don’t realize they are partakers of this deadly sin. If they would, however, their lives would be more enjoyable, and their actions more selfless. How addicting is food? Is gluttony related to food alone, or does it go deeper than controlling eating habits? Do the Scriptures talk about gluttony, or is it one of those things we made up after the Bible was put together? How does God look at gluttony, and where are the boundaries? These and many other questions will be answered in this book about one of the seven deadly sins. Gluttony has been mistaken for many things in the past. Some people judge others for being fat. Some are confused as to how far to go when indulging themselves in delicious foods. And others wonder if self-discipline in general is the underlying commandment that is related to the sin of gluttony. In this book, you will learn about topics such as: The very definition of gluttony, to describe boundaries and debunk the myths that are out there The five different ways to commit the sin of gluttony, according to the religious philosopher, Thomas Aquinas A discussion about Jesus’ first temptation in the desert and what we can learn from it Examples and stories from holy writ related to gluttony and a lack of self-control of bodily appetites The dangers of gluttony and extreme examples of people who raged or killed over food How to get better at controlling your bodily urges Why hunger or appetite is often related to complaining, and how to stop it How to be forgiven, even when you have sinned atrociouslyGluttony is one of those sins that is often overlooked. However, understanding the sin, and the essence of it, can be life-changing.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The earnest intercessor and serious spiritual warrior will want to read this book. About this book, Dr. Lester Sumrall in his Forward writes: "Many have written concerning fasting. Few have experienced extended fasts several times per year from forty-eight hours per week and from twenty-one to forty days' duration with such results as Dr. Fomum and believers in some of the Churches in Cameroon.... The reader of The Ministry of Fasting is caught up in the reality of fasting unto the Lord.... Along with Bible characters, the Church fathers from Savanarola, Martin Luther, Knox, Wesley, Jonathan Edwards, and modern Church leaders, both living and dead, are cited as exemplary among those who valued fasting unto victory in Christ.... Dr. Fomum explores - the aspects of fasting, - interference of spirits, and - the different reasons to fast: - for deliverance, - for ministering unto the Lord, and - for mourning... He helps one with - preparations for fasting, - how to intercede while fasting, - how to break a fast, - what to do after a fast, and - how to maintain the results of a fast. The book is written, as the others of his books, in a teachable, expanded outline format. The earnest intercessor and serious spiritual warrior will want to read this book." In fact, even if you fear fasting, this book will help you to start this vital Christian discipline.
