Deux configurations ont été étudiées : une décharge nanoseconde répétitive pulsée (NRP) entre deux pointes dans l'air préchauffé et une décharge à barrière diélectrique (DBD) dans une configuration pointe-plan. Nous avons montré que les simulations de la dynamique de ces décharges sur des temps courts permettent d'obtenir des informations sur la structure et les propriétés de ces décharges observées expérimentalement, généralement sur des temps plus longs. Dans le cadre de cette thèse, du point de vue de la simulation des décharges, deux nouvelles apporches ont été développées : pour le calcul de la photoionisation et pour la prise en compte d'électrodes de forme complexe dans des maiilages cartésiens.

Book excerpt: Des travaux récents ont montré que la Décharge de Townsend à la Pression Atmosphérique (DTPA) est compatible avec les procédés de traitement en ligne de matériaux. Néanmoins, les conditions d'obtention de cette décharge contrôlée par barrière diélectrique sont encore limitées pour développer un procédé industriel, ce qui se traduit par une puissance trop faible et donc des temps de traitement trop longs. Ainsi, l'objectif de ce travail est d'améliorer la compréhension de la physique de la DTPA afin de définir en particulier l'origine des différentes causes de sa déstabilisation qui limite la puissance transmise à la décharge. Pour cela, la démarche adoptée consiste en une étude fine du couplage entre le générateur et la décharge, par le biais d'une modélisation électrique de type circuit de l'alimentation électrique et de la DTPA basée sur des observations expérimentales. Le modèle électrique de la DTPA permet d'avoir une vision macroscopique de la décharge. Nous avons pu mettre en évidence l'importance de la variation de l'émission secondaire durant la décharge, ainsi que le rôle de l'effet mémoire d'une décharge à la suivante et de l'élévation de la température du gaz. Nous avons ainsi mis au point un modèle qui décrit le comportement électrique de la décharge sur toute sa plage de fonctionnement. Le couplage de ce modèle avec celui de l'alimentation montre qu'une cause de déstabilisation de la DTPA est liée à des oscillations dues aux éléments parasites de l'alimentation. Ainsi, l'étude du couplage entre l'alimentation et la décharge a permis de définir deux solutions permettant d'augmenter la puissance transmise. La première consiste à éviter l'apparition d'oscillations en diminuant le rapport de la capacité du diélectrique solide sur la capacité du gaz. La seconde, étudiée uniquement en simulation, est basée sur l'utilisation d'un commutateur de courant afin de maintenir un courant constant durant la décharge et d'accroître la durée d'allumage de la décharge.

Book excerpt: Cette thèse porte sur une étude fondamentale sur le dépôt des couches minces d’organosiliciés par des Décharges à Barrière Diélectrique (DBD), un procédé très intéressant pour l’application aux textiles. La plupart des dépôts des couches d’oxyde de silicium sont déposées à partir du précurseur hexaméthyle silixone (HMDSO).De plus très peu d’études sont consacrées aux mécanismes de dépôt des couches à la pression atmosphérique. Dans cette étude les propriétés des couches minces déposées par DBD alimentées par Ar/HMDSO/O2, Ar/PMDSO (pentaméthyldisiloxane)/O2 et Ar/TMDSO (tetraméthyldisiloxane)/O2, avec différentes proportions de l’oxygène, ont été confrontées aux analyses, par GC-MS, des gaz sortant du réacteur. Nous avons trouvé que l’ajout d’O2 au gaz d’alimentation n’améliore pas l’activation du précurseur organosilicié, même s’il augmente la puissance injectée. En revanche il influence fortement la composition chimique des dépôts et favorise une forte réduction de la concentration des sous-produits dans le gaz sortant du réacteur. Sans ajout de l’O2, des couches minces obtenues contiennent beaucoup de carbone , avec rétention de la structure du précurseur de départ. En réduisant le nombre de –CH3 dans le précurseur (HMDSO>PMDSO>TMDSO), le nombre et l’abondance des sous-produits détectés dans le gaz sortant du réacteur diminuent fortement. Il semblerait que les unités de répétition diméthylsiloxane et hydrométhylsiloxane jouent un rôle important dans l’oligomérisation des trois précurseurs. Différents mécanismes d’activation, ainsi que différents procédés de formation des groupes Si-OH dans les dépôts, ont été proposés pour les trois précurseurs.
