The Greek word translated as “rebellion” or “falling away” in verse 3 of the Scripture is apostasia, from which we get the English word apostasy. It refers to a general defection from the true God, the Bible, and the Christian faith. In such perilous times of deception and spiritual corruption, a great need exists to seek the Lord, to follow His will, to obey His truths and to follow His narrow path of holiness. To restore the altar is truly to be a living sacrifice in service of God – a servant who will not compromise with the world and who seeks to only glorify God above all.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Writers of fiction have always confronted topics of crime and punishment. This age-old fascination with crime on the part of both authors and readers is not surprising, given that criminal justice touches on so many political and psychological themes essential to literature, and comes equipped with a trial process that contains its own dramatic structure. This volume explores this profound and enduring literary engagement with crime, investigation, and criminal justice. The collected essays explore three themes that connect the world of law with that of fiction. First, defining and punishing crime is one of the fundamental purposes of government, along with the protection of victims by the prevention of crime. And yet criminal punishment remains one of the most abused and terrifying forms of political power. Second, crime is intensely psychological and therefore an important subject by which a writer can develop and explore character. A third connection between criminal justice and fiction involves the inherently dramatic nature of the legal system itself, particularly the trial. Moreover, the ongoing public conversation about crime and punishment suggests that the time is ripe for collaboration between law and literature in this troubled domain. The essays in this collection span a wide array of genres, including tragic drama, science fiction, lyric poetry, autobiography, and mystery novels. The works discussed include works as old as fifth-century BCE Greek tragedy and as recent as contemporary novels, memoirs, and mystery novels. The cumulative result is arresting: there are "killer wives" and crimes against trees; a government bureaucrat who sends political adversaries to their death for treason before falling to the same fate himself; a convicted murderer who doesn't die when hanged; a psychopathogical collector whose quite sane kidnapping victim nevertheless also collects; Justice Thomas' reading and misreading of Bigger Thomas; a man who forgives his son's murderer and one who cannot forgive his wife's non-existent adultery; fictional detectives who draw on historical analysis to solve murders. These essays begin a conversation, and they illustrate the great depth and power of crime in literature.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book uses history and the Bible to offers a fresh and scriptural interpretation of passages of the Bible which for centuries remained a mystery to the student of Bible prophecy, including Mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and of the abomination of the earth. I will explore the myths and deception of Roman Catholicism and their direct connection with the idolatrous worship system of the Mother and Child of ancient Babylon. The claims that Roman Catholicism is the only true Church of Christ on Earth and the claim that man cant find salvation apart from her is the greatest deception the world has ever known. Centuries of moral crisis and sexual abuse of children speak volumes about the true nature of the leaders of the Catholic Church. The abhorrence of marriage and the negative view of women recorded in the Canon Laws clearly reflect the Vaticans Gnostic belief on sexual intercourse and the imposition of celibacy. Many people throughout the world equate Christianity with everything that is vile, contemptible and depraved. For centuries the Roman C. Church suppressed basic human rights and also persecuted and murdered anyone who held beliefs which conflicted with the dogma of the church. During the horrors of the Inquisition tens of thousands of people were tortured, dismembered, beaten, and burned alive, all in the name of a fraudulent faith. Roman Catholicism is the false representation of truth and also the cause great many people throughout history have repudiated true Christianity. The history of crimes the papacy has committed throughout history is so compelling that it would inevitably lead any objective thinker to the conclusion that throughout the history of the world there hasnt been any other organization as notorious as the Roman C. Church. The long history of cruelty, crimes and immorality that for centuries the church of Judas has committed on every generation, provides irrefutable proof that she is not of God.

It is strange but true: about things that are not said, informed by the events that are happening around us, and facts that are beyond dispute. Actually when you start reading this book you will not be able to leave it without coming to the last page of it having a very precise, new, logic and Divine knowledge. It is as true as the life in you is. You find in this piece of new knowledge many issues which prescribe the reality in abstract style having brought it into minds as vivid facts: What is the wrong with the life of high technologies? Do you believe that this contemporary technologies are the main source of misery of our life?! Why do people abandon God and where Do they direct their destination into? What is God’s purpose of the afflictions and difficulties which He has driven to people and nations? What are the reasons behind the destruction of the old nations? Do you think that the whole world is coming to the same fate of the old destructed nations? What is the last resort of escaping from this horrible end? What is the real meaning of the Hour which is mentioned in the Divine texts? Is it the Doomsday or the hour of ruining events which will overwhelm most of the whole world? What are its indications and what is the real actual meaning of each one of them? Is Master Jesus the Messiah going to come once again, what are the evidences of his close blessing coming to this world and where is he now? Blessed are those who are born in his close coming time. Why? Is master Jesus the redeemer? What is the real meaning of “the redeemer”? Most of religions’ scholars say Master Adam committed a sin ? Do you think that our great father did that ? what is the real fact beyond that? Is there any way to save yourself during this difficult time? How could you rescue yourself from the horrible and destructing events of the Hour? The way of attaining belief and true faith.

Eden is humankind’s collective belief in everything that is bright, beautiful, pure, and innocent; everything that would remain untarnished, no matter what. The raging WW2 embroiled and entangled millions of common people, who sadly neither had much say in the situation, nor possessed the erudition to comprehend what the madness was all about. This book is the story of such next-door protagonists like Kuhlbert, Raymond, Gerta, and Alessandra, who suddenly find themselves motivated to become a part in the deadliest war of human history. They are flawed, nuanced and unsure about the outcome of the war, just as we are, about what is to come tomorrow. A story of love, hatred, delusion, fortitude, selflessness, magnanimity and a lot more, but first and foremost a message of universal hope in our quest for our own Eden...

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a time when men fought and women stayed home, Nicholaa de la Haye held Lincoln Castle against all-comers. Not once, but three times, earning herself the ironic praise that she acted ‘manfully’. Nicholaa gained prominence in the First Baron’s War, the civil war that followed the sealing of Magna Carta in 1215. Although recently widowed, and in her 60s, in 1217 Nicholaa endured a siege that lasted over three months, resisting the English rebel barons and their French allies. The siege ended in the battle known as the Lincoln Fair, when 70-year-old William Marshal, the Greatest Knight in Christendom, spurred on by the chivalrous need to rescue a lady in distress, came to Nicholaa’s aid. Nicholaa de la Haye was a staunch supporter of King John, remaining loyal to the very end, even after most of his knights and barons had deserted him. A truly remarkable lady, Nicholaa was the first woman to be appointed sheriff in her own right. Her strength and tenacity saved England at one of the lowest points in its history. Nicholaa de la Haye is one woman in English history whose story needs to be told…

Book excerpt: This book is available as open access through the Bloomsbury Open Access programme and is available on www.bloomsburycollections.com. Is it possible to create a better world? Can this be done without the image of an ideal world to guide us? What would such a world be like? There has been a marked renewal of interest in utopian thought, as the exposed economic, social and political dysfunctions of modern society have forced us to re-examine our visions of the future. Yet the wealth of utopian literature on which we could draw remains inaccessible or poorly understood. This book readdresses this imbalance, with a collection of essays, each centred on a key passage in a canonical utopian work that challenges the commonly accepted interpretation of that work and allows us to examine it with fresh insight. At the same time, by contextualising each passage within the text as a whole, readers are enabled to reflect on the meaning and reception of the work and on its significance in the history of utopian thought. Broad in scope and original in approach, this textbook is an encouragement to students and scholars alike to read the utopian classics afresh.
