This book provides an overview of the lives of three great scientists, Newton, Faraday and Einstein, who made the most significant contributions to physics.Newton and Faraday laid the foundation of Newtonian mechanics and electro-magnetic theory, respectively, that constituted the two greatest contributions to classical physics. Newton elucidated the motion of celestial bodies with the three laws of motion, while Faraday researched electro-magnetic phenomena and discovered electro-magnetic induction, magneto-optical effect, etc.Furthermore, Einstein contributed to the foundation of quantum mechanics and relativity theory which comprise the two greatest theories in modern physics. By elucidating photoelectric effect, Einstein proved the correctness of the concept of quantum proposed by Planck which resulted in quantum mechanics being considered as an epoch-making mechanics following Newtonian mechanics. Einstein renovated the concept of time-space and derived the Lorentz transformation supporting relativity principle. This book will take the readers on a journey to understand the progress from classical physics to modern physics.

Book excerpt: Einstein's contributions to our ideas of time and space and to our knowledge of the universe in general, are of so momentous a nature, that they easily take their place among the two or three greatest achievements of the twentieth century. This book attempts to give, in popular form, an account of this work. As, however, Einstein's work is so largely dependent upon the work of Newton and Newton's successors, the first two chapters are devoted to the latter.

Ill EINSTEIN HIS is the most important result obtained in connection with the theory of gravitation since Newton's day. Einstein's reasoning is the result of one of the highest achievements of human thought." These words were uttered by Sir J. J. Thomson, the president of the Royal Society, at a meeting of that body held on November 6, 1919, to discuss the results of the Eclipse Expedition. Einstein another Newton--and this from the > lips of J. J. Thomson, England's most illustrious physicist! If ever man weighed words carefully it is this Cambridge professor, whose own researches have assured him immortality for all time. What has this Albert Einstein done to merit such extraordinary praise? With the world in turmoil, with classes and races in a death struggle, with millions suffering and starving, why do we find time to turn our attention to this Jew? His ideas have no bearing on Europe's calamity. They will not add one bushel of wheat to starving populations. The answer is not hard to find. Men come and men go, but the mystery of the universe remains. DEGREESIt is Einstein's glory to have given us a deeper insight into the universe. Our scientists are Huxley's agnostics: they do not deny activities beyond our planet; they merely center their attention on the knowable on this earth. Our philosophers, on the other hand, go far afield. Some of them soar so high that, like one poet's opinion of Shelley, the bubble bursts. Einstein, using the tools of the scientist--the experimentalist--builded a skyscraper which ultimately reached the philosophical school. His r61e is the rdle of alcohol in causing water and ether (the anaesthetic) to mix. Ether and water will mix no better than oil and water, without the presence of alcohol; in its..

He was a part of a scientific revolution in the 17th century which would fundamentally change the way that people would see the world. In the field of optics, he would advance our understanding of light and how we saw it. Inside you will read about... The Best Books on Isaac Newton And much more! In mechanics he would create his famous three laws of motion but it's in physics that he became most well-known for his understanding of gravity, and in mathematics for his discovery of calculus and his writing perhaps the single most important scientific book of all-time, the 'Principia' which is still referenced today. Albert Einstein was an outstanding physician and mathematician of the 20th century. He was a pure genius who created a formula that would build a bomb capable of killing thousands at a time. Albert learned to play the violin. He could play a few notes on the piano or the violin, and then he would jot down notes on some theory. Einstein won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1922. Inside you will read about... A Genius Shows Up with a Deformed Head The Odd Shaped Head Starts to Read Einstein Had A "Miracle Year" Einstein Finds He Has Enemies Albert Had His Problems Too Did Einstein Have a 3rd Son? You Decide The End is Soon to Come What Exactly Was the Legacy of Einstein? And much more! As far as the way he lived his life, well, read on, and you be the judge to see if you think he had a full and happy life. Einstein's story awaits you on the pages ahead.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After developing his Law of Gravitation, Newton came to believe that the Universe was infinite and homogeneous on a large scale. Einstein's original intuition was similar to Newton's in that he thought our Universe was static, infinite, isotropic and homogeneous. The field equations of Einstein's general relativity are solved for this universe. One of the three solutions found, the "infinite closed universe", traps light within a finite portion of the universe. This infinite closed universe model is shown to fit all the data of the Hubble diagram better than the Big Bang, and it fits the recent supernova data without having to postulate mysterious dark energy. Using general relativity and the physics which evolved from Newton, the author finds the force of gravity between two point particles. Utilizing this force and the infinite closed universe model, the net force of gravity on a point particle, in arbitrary motion, due to the uniform mass distribution of the universe is calculated by an integration. This net force of gravity is found to be equal to the force of inertia. These calculations explain Newton's First Law, Newton's Second Law, and the equivalence of inertial and gravitational mass. In addition, by the extension of Einstein's general relativity to two-body interactions Newton's Third Law is elicited. These results show that the cosmological redshift and the physics that we know are likely the result of the uniform mass distribution of our infinite closed universe and gravity alone.
