The beholder may look into wild solitudes on one hand, and on the other upon an undulating country, where cornfields and woods, and pasture lands and orchards beautifully alternate, but there is nothing startling in the contrast. It is one, and a very marked one, but being Nature's handiwork no violence is done. Nearly the whole Of Devonshire can be seen from Dartmoor.
