Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differential cross sections for the production of secondary neutrons and gamma rays from neutron interactions in natural copper have been measured at 130° (lab) for incident neutron energies in the range 1 to 20 MeV. An electron linac was used as a pulsed, white neutron source. Incident neutron energies were determined using time-of-flight techniques for a source-to-sample distance of 48 m. Secondary spectra were determined by unfolding the pulse-height distributions observed in a NE-213 scintillation counter. The results are compared to the current evaluated nuclear data file (ENDF/B-IV, MAT 1295).

Book excerpt: NSA is a comprehensive collection of international nuclear science and technology literature for the period 1948 through 1976, pre-dating the prestigious INIS database, which began in 1970. NSA existed as a printed product (Volumes 1-33) initially, created by DOE's predecessor, the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). NSA includes citations to scientific and technical reports from the AEC, the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration and its contractors, plus other agencies and international organizations, universities, and industrial and research organizations. References to books, conference proceedings, papers, patents, dissertations, engineering drawings, and journal articles from worldwide sources are also included. Abstracts and full text are provided if available.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neutron-induced cross sections of /sup 53/Cr have been calculated in the energy regions from 1 to 20 MeV. The quantities obtained are the cross sections for the reactions (n, n'.gamma.), (n,2n), (n, np), (n, n.cap alpha.), (n, p.gamma.), (n, pn), (n, .cap alpha gamma.), (n, .cap alpha.n), (n, d), (n, t), (n, /sup 3/He), and (n, .gamma.), as well as the spectra of emitted neutrons, protons, alpha particles, and gamma rays. The precompound process was included above 5 MeV in addition to the compound process. For the inelastic scattering, the contribution of the direct interaction was calculated with DWBA. 36 refs., 23 figs., 11 tabs.
Book Synopsis Analysis of N + 197Au Cross Sections for E by :
Download or read book Analysis of N + 197Au Cross Sections for E written by and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An analysis of n + 197Au reactions has been completed for incident neutron energies between 0.01 and 20 MeV. The analysis involves use of a deformed optical model to calculate neutron transmission coefficients, a giant-dipole-resonance model and experimental data to determine gamma-ray transmission coefficients, and Hauser-Feshbach statistical theory to calculate partial reaction cross sections. Particular emphasis was given to obtaining gamma-ray strength functions that are consistent with spectral measurements of gamma-ray emission between E/sub n/ = 0.2 and 20 MeV by Morgan and Newman, while at the same time requiring agreement with (n, .gamma.) and (n, xn) cross-section data. 16 references.

This book was released on 1979 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Differential cross sections for the neutron-induced gamma-ray production from thorium were measured for incident neutron energies between 0.3 and 20.0 MeV. The Oak Ridge Electron Linear Accelerator (ORELA) was used to provide the neutrons, and a NaI spectrometer, to detect the gamma rays at 125/sup 0/. The data presented are the double differential cross section, d/sup 2/sigma/d.cap omega.dE, for gamma-ray energies between 0.3 and 10.6 MeV for coarse intervals in incident neutron energy. The integrated yield of gamma rays of energies greater than 300 keV with higher resolution in the neutron energy is also presented. 23 figures, 21 tables.

Book Synopsis Analysis of Fe(n, X[gamma] Cross Sections Using the TNG Nuclear Reaction Model Code by :
Download or read book Analysis of Fe(n, X[gamma] Cross Sections Using the TNG Nuclear Reaction Model Code written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 27 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theoretical gamma ray cross sections have been calculated using a nuclear reaction model code. These are compared to experimental gamma ray production cross sections obtained from neutron interactions with [sup 56]Fe at incident neutron energies of 1 to 40 MeV. The optical model and nuclear level density parameters in the code have been varied to affect a close agreement between calculations and the data. Present analyses, which focus on incident neutron energies between 17 and 40 MeV, display somewhat better agreement than those previously reported.
