Los padres, sin necesidad de lleguar a ser expertos en crecimiento, deben conocer básicamente los procesos más importantes que tienen lugar durante las fases de crecimiento normal a lo largo del período de escolarización. Existen numerosos agentes que intervienen en el desarrollo y crecimiento, unos externos al individuo como los socioeconómicos y otros de tipo hereditarios como los endocrinos. Por otro lado existen una serie de patologías más habituales durante las fases del crecimiento que afectan al acto motor, y que es preciso conocer para evaluar a su alumnado y hacer las adaptaciones oportunas. Con esta obra se intenta dar unas nociones elementales sobre estos aspectos con la intención de su uso positivo por los padres.
