Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cosmology Reborn: Star Wisdom is the new name for the Journal for Star Wisdom. It includes articles of interest concerning star wisdom (astrosophy), as well as a guide to the correspondences between stellar configurations during the life of Christ and those of today. This guide comprises a complete sidereal ephemeris and aspectarian, geocentric and heliocentric, for each day throughout the year. This edition is edited by Claudia McLaren Lainson and Joel Park, taking over from Robert Powell.According to Rudolf Steiner, every step taken by Christ during his ministry between the baptism in the Jordan and the resurrection was in harmony with -- and an expression of -- the cosmos. The Journal for Star Wisdom is concerned with these heavenly correspondences during the life of Christ. It is intended to help provide a foundation for cosmic Christianity, the cosmic dimension of Christianity. It is this dimension that has been missing from Christianity in its two-thousand-year history. This year sees the publication of the first volume of the series Star Wisdom--Cosmology Reborn. This title was chosen in commemoration of a lecture given in 1919 by Rudolf Steiner, 'Cosmogony, Freedom, Altruism', in which he indicates the development of a living Cosmology to be the task of the Anglo-American West. The first article in this volume by Joel Park illuminates this lecture from the standpoint of Astrogeography. This is followed by an article by Robert Powell, in which he describes the development of Astrosophy, and introduces a new, galactic perspective for casting horoscopes. Claudia McLaren Lainson, in her first article, addresses the historical gesture of Saturn-Pluto conjunctions. This is followed by a second article from Joel Park, in which he outlines his recent around the timeline of the events of the Parzival story. A vision from Estelle Isaacson is included, on the theme of the miracles of the Second Coming. This is followed by an assessment by Kevin Dann as to how well Cosmology has been able to arise in America since 1919. Julie Humphreys offers an illuminating piece on the historical gesture of Uranus in Aries. Then comes Claudia McLaren Lainson's second article, which gives a hermetic perspective on the events of our time. The final article is an otherwise out of print piece from the archives of Robert Powell on the Lunar Calendar. Finally, the monthly commentaries, supported by Julie Humphrey's astronomical previews for each month, are provided by Claudia McLaren Lainson, offering an opportunity to connect spiritual with the stellar configurations during 2019. This direct interaction between the human being on Earth and the angels and other heavenly beings connected with the stars is intended to help the reader toward developing the capacity to receive the wisdom-filled teachings of the angelic hierarchies

Book excerpt: Journal for Star Wisdom 2017 includes articles of interest concerning star wisdom (astrosophy), as well as a guide to the correspondences between stellar configurations during the life of Christ and those of today. This guide comprises a complete sidereal ephemeris and aspectarian, geocentric and heliocentric, for each day throughout the year. Published annually, new editions are available in November for the coming new year.According to Rudolf Steiner, every step taken by Christ during his ministry between the baptism in the Jordan and the resurrection was in harmony with -- and an expression of -- the cosmos. The Journal for Star Wisdom is concerned with these heavenly correspondences during the life of Christ. It is intended to help provide a foundation for cosmic Christianity, the cosmic dimension of Christianity. It is this dimension that has been missing from Christianity in its two-thousand-year history.Readers can begin on this path by contemplating the movements of the Sun, Moon, and planets against the background of the zodiacal constellations (sidereal signs) today in relation to corresponding stellar events during the life of Christ. In this way, the possibility is opened for attuning, in a living way, to the life of Christ in the etheric cosmos. The monthly commentaries for the year 2017 by Claudia McLaren Lainson are supported by monthly astronomical previews provided by Sally Nurney that offer opportunities to physically observe and experience the stellar configurations during the year of 2017. This direct interaction between the human being on earth and the heavenly beings of the stars develops the capacity to receive their wisdom-filled teachings.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The tribal initiation of the shaman, the archetype of the serpent, exemplifies the death of the self and a rebirth into transcendent life. This book traces the images of spiritual initiation in religious rituals and myths of resurrection, poems and epics, cycles of nature, and art and dreaming. It dramatizes the metamorphosis from a common experience of death's inevitability into a transcendent freedom beyond individual limitations. "This is a classic work in analytical psychology that offers crucial insights on the meaning of death symbolism (and its inevitably accompanying rebirth and resurrection symbolism) as part of the great theme of initiation, of which [Henderson] is the world's foremost psychological interpreter. This material is really the next step after the hero myth that Joseph Campbell has made so popular, and provides an understanding of how not to use the hero myth in an inflated way as a psychology of mastery, but as an attainment progressively to be died beyond. [Henderson] is helped by the presence of Maud Oakes, who is a trained anthropologist with exquisite taste in her choice of mythic materials and respect for their original contexts."--John Beebe

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘Astrology is a concern of the Christ and the work of Michael.’ – Hermann Beckh During the brief window between the two World Wars, the Rev. Prof. Hermann Beckh led research at The Christian Community Seminary in Stuttgart. In those precious years he published on music, the gospels and the ancient Mysteries. By 1930, in his Contributions to the Priests’ Newsletter, he had produced the most far-reaching account of the cosmic order ever written. The typescript of this great work was destined to gather dust in the Berlin Archiv, however, until it was discovered in recent years. Published here for the first time, it is the crowning masterpiece to Beckh’s Collected Works. The translated and annotated text is accompanied by Rudolf Frieling’s in-depth application of Beckh’s principles of the cosmic starry order to the Creed of The Christian Community, and by a number of appreciations and relevant book reviews. Through ever-deepening meditation guided by Rudolf Steiner, and his vast knowledge of Tibetan, Sanskrit, Pali and Avestan sacred texts – scarcely to be equalled in Europe at the time – Beckh came to the first-hand realization that human and cosmic life was ordered. He perceived directly that this cosmic order was: good, as originating from the World-Will; true, as from World-Thinking; and beautiful, as from World-Feeling. All three could be personally experienced in disciplined consciousness that could enter dream, sleep and pre-natal life. This, then, was Beckh’s method and inspiration, as shown in this extraordinary work. ‘The time will come when Beckh’s “Christened” star-knowledge, which signifies a basic overturning of today’s decadent astrology, will be appreciated for its significance.’ – August Pauli

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A radical reinterpretation of the Pyramid Texts as shamanic mystical wisdom rather than funerary rituals • Reveals the mystical nature of Egyptian civilization denied by orthodox Egyptologists • Examines the similarity between the pharaoh’s afterlife voyage and shamanic journeying • Shows shamanism to be the foundation of the Egyptian mystical tradition To the Greek philosophers and other peoples of the ancient world, Egypt was regarded as the home of a profound mystical wisdom. While there are many today who still share that view, the consensus of most Egyptologists is that no evidence exists that Egypt possessed any mystical tradition whatsoever. Jeremy Naydler’s radical reinterpretation of the Pyramid Texts--the earliest body of religious literature to have survived from ancient Egypt--places these documents into the ritual context in which they belong. Until now, the Pyramid Texts have been viewed primarily as royal funerary texts that were used in the liturgy of the dead pharaoh or to aid him in his afterlife journey. This emphasis on funerary interpretation has served only to externalize what were actually experiences of the living, not the dead, king. In order to understand the character and significance of the extreme psychological states the pharaoh experienced--states often involving perilous encounters with alternate realities--we need to approach them as spiritual and religious phenomena that reveal the extraordinary possibilities of human consciousness. It is the shamanic spiritual tradition, argues Naydler, that is the undercurrent of the Pyramid Texts and that holds the key to understanding both the true nature of these experiences and the basis of ancient Egyptian mysticism.

Book excerpt: Integrating astrology, mythology and spirituality, this book is a reflection on the themes of the astrological ages across the past 13,000 years and is an exploration of what astrology has to tell us about the meaning of the changes happening globally and culturally in this time. We are currently on the cusp of the Age of Aquarius, at the end of a 26,000 year precessional cycle and, according to ancient prophecies, at the close of a world era. With the recent discovery of the planetoids Sedna and Eris, new forms of consciousness are entering our awareness. Through listening to the messages of the stars and planets, we find guidance for our lives in this intense time of change. We live in a sentient universe, which is calling us back into relationship with the cosmos and with the Earth. In remembering our source (the galactic center), reconnecting with the spirit in all of life and in becoming centered within ourselves, we gain meaning and wisdom for who we are and who we are becoming and find a path for the healing and evolution of ourselves and our Earth.

Rich in historical and mystical detail, the story centers on Khem and Tiye, two young apprentice priestesses in the Temple of the Sun. As the girls are initiated into the secret arts of dream interpretation, astronomy, and astral travel, a battle for the great empire’s throne is being waged between the Pharaoh and his half-brother--a battle in which the young apprentices will unwittingly play the decisive role. Engaging and hypnotic, The Second Coming of the Star Gods creates characters and a world so real you won’t want to soon leave. She masterfully recreates Egypt’s 4th Dynasty--the Pyramid Age--a time in which gods, goddesses, and magicians were the true rulers of the land.

Virtually all the world's sacred traditions are built upon a common esoteric system of celestial allegory. In The Undying Stars, you will see how that system works, and why the ancients thought it was so important. You will find evidence that the message that these esoteric myths were intended to convey includes a shamanic-holographic worldview of tremendous sophistication . . . and profound significance. A worldview which anticipated quantum physics by many thousands of years. And you will encounter evidence that this ancient wisdom was deliberately suppressed by forces who took over the Roman Empire and then launched a violent campaign to eradicate the ancient esoteric system, first in Europe and then in the rest of the world . . .

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A New Star Wisdom developed by Willi Sucher from the insights of Rudolf Steiner "...the great paradox is that the loss of direct spiritual perception of the gods was necessary in evolution so that human beings could fulfill their great task in world evolution. According to Rudolf Steiner, this task is that we become beings of freedom and of the love that is born out of that freedom. This means that the experience of separation from the divine, unique to humanity among all beings, has the possibility, not the predetermination, to establish something new in the cosmos: a rank of beings who freely choose to participate with the divine plan out of the love born from that freedom." (from the book) Based on the author's comprehensive video course on star wisdom (astrosophy), this book presents a thorough introduction to star wisdom as inaugurated by the spiritual philosopher Rudolf Steiner and the pioneer of astrosophy Willi Sucher, whose work and methods Jonathan Hilton has studied, practiced, and developed for many years. Beginning with the basics, Hilton takes the reader through an introductory course on astrosophy--from understanding and working with the zodiac and planetary spheres to actual chart construction and to the spiritual significance and deeper meaning behind practical astrosophy and its potential for one's own inner development. In the process, he also brings a historical perspective and carefully draws important distinctions between today's popular astrology and the esoteric basis for an approach to star wisdom as viewed and developed through spiritual science. Also included in this course on astrosophy are numerous statements from the works of Rudolf Steiner on our human relationship to the stars, zodiac, and cosmos. This is an essential guide for anyone who wants to begin a study of this discipline and spiritual path through the stars. Liberally illustrated with more than seventy color and black-and-white images.

Book excerpt: During 1924, before his last address in September, Rudolf Steiner gave over eighty lectures on the subject of karma to members of the Anthroposophical Society. These profoundly esoteric lectures examine the underlying laws inherent in reincarnation and karma, and explore in detail the incarnations of specific historical figures. In Rudolf Steiner's words, the study of karma is "... a matter of penetrating into the most profound mysteries of existence, for within the sphere of karma and the course it takes lie those processes which are the basis of the other phenomena of world existence..." A study of the karma of the anthroposophical movement and society, the spiritual gates of the sun and moon, and much more. (9 lectures, various cities 25 Jan to 20 Jul 1924, GA235, 236, 240)
