The major types of deposits are described in terms of their key geological affiliations and district-scale geological settings. Finally, the tectonic and metallogenic history of the Province is summarized and the numerous interpretations that have been put forward are discussed in light of current knowledge. The second contribution covers the Grenville Province (Mesoproterozoic) and its stratigraphic correlations, lithology, metamorphism, structure, geologic history, and tectonic models and their interpretations.
