Dans la deuxième partie, ces résultats sont utilisés pour étudier le comportement d'un film liquide visqueux entraîné par le déplacement vertical d'une bande et soumis à l'action d'un jet. Les actions du jet sur la surface sont déterminées par un calcul numérique en utilisant un schéma de type volume fini. L’écoulement d'un jet bidimensionnel, turbulent et compressible sur une plaque plane est modélisé en utilisant le modèle de turbulence k- avec des fonctions de paroi. Pour réduire l'influence du maillage près de la paroi sur le calcul de la contrainte de cisaillement pariétale, une loi de paroi hybride est proposée en utilisant simultanément la loi de paroi logarithmique et sa forme généralisée. Les distributions de pression et de contrainte de cisaillement sont calculées et validées par des mesures expérimentales. L’équation du mouvement du film liquide est écrite en considérant le terme d'accélération, négligé dans les études précédentes. Le modèle est appliqué a un processus de galvanisation et validé par des résultats expérimentaux obtenus dans des conditions diverses

Book excerpt: L'impact de jets est largement utilisé aujourd'hui dans l'industrie car ils génèrent d'importants transferts de chaleur et/ou de masse. Pour le refroidissement de la surface interne d'une aube de turbine, dans la région à mi-corde, la courbure est si faible que l'on peut, en première approximation, considérer que les jets frappent une paroi plane. Cette hypothèse n'est plus vraie au bord d'attaque où les jets viennent frapper une plaque courbe concave. Malheureusement très peu d'études concernent l'impact de jets sur des parois courbes (une quinzaine au plus, en 30 ans). Pour aborder cette problématique nous avons entrepris, dans ce travail, l'étude aérothermique d'impact d’un jet plan sur une paroi concave. Les résultats indiquent pour certaines configurations qu'il existe un phénomène instationnaire instable : un battement du jet qui se caractérise par une légère oscillation du jet autour de trois positions semi-stables. Cet écoulement est analysé à partir des champs moyens de vitesse et des valeurs turbulentes obtenues par Vélocimétrie par Imagerie de Particules (PIV). Les transferts de chaleur sur la paroi d'impact sont déterminés à partir des mesures de température par thermographie infrarouge. Ce battement du jet entraîne une modification très importante de la structure de l'écoulement et du transfert de chaleur qui sont très différents de ceux observés, dans la littérature, pour le cas d'un impact de jet classique. Dans l'optique d'utiliser ce type de phénomène pour l'optimisation du refroidissement d’une paroi concave, nous nous sommes intéressés à l'influence des conditions aux limites (tabs en entrée ou obturateur en sortie) et des principaux paramètres géométriques et dynamiques (hauteur d’impact, nombre de Reynolds,...).

Only two participants from Eastern countries attended this Symposium. By the middle of the 1980's we felt that on this very same topic ideas had reached much more maturity than in 1982. We also realized that a line of research on MHD flows related to fusion reactors (tokamaks) was developing significantly, with particular emphasis on flows at large interaction parameter.
