Mais plus souvent, les mouvements qu'elle nourrit développement des formes de lutte originales dont la portée émancipatrice reste mal perçue, car elles ne correspondent plus aux formes traditionnelles de l'action politique. A travers de nombreux exemples, les auteurs montrent qu'en laissant de côté la question du pouvoir et de sa conquête, les animateurs de ces mouvements inventent une " politique du contre-pouvoir " dont les effets concrets sur la société sont déjà beaucoup plus importants qu'on ne le croit. Un livre optimiste qui passionnera tous ceux qui cherchent, ici et maintenant, dans leur engagement militant ou professionnel, les pratiques qui permettront de réinventer la justice et la liberté.
