Book Synopsis Confidence Affirmation Tracing Journal by : Ashley Celey-Butlin
Download or read book Confidence Affirmation Tracing Journal written by Ashley Celey-Butlin and published by Six Basic Fears. This book was released on 2018-10-04 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Affirmation Tracing Journals are the easiest way to stick to the habit of daily positive affirmations. This journal contains the following confidence affirmation in a traceable font, repeated 365 times: "I never worry about what others think about me. I am competent, smart and able. I am confident with my life plan and the way things are going." Trace the affirmation once a day for a year and watch your self-talk around confidence change. Napoleon Hill, the author of the bestselling self-help book "Think And Grow Rich," says there are six basic human fears and all other human fears fall under one of the basic six: 1. Fear of Poverty, 2. Fear of Criticism, 3. Fear of Ill Health, 4. Fear of Loss of Love, 5. Fear of Old Age, and 6. Fear of Death. Hill also speaks about the importance of daily repeated affirmation, which is now a science-backed method to reprogram our subconscious belief systems. The Confidence Affirmation Tracing Journal combines these two concepts to create a powerful self-growth experience. The Confidence Affirmation Tracing Journal helps you conquer fear 2: fear of criticism. Symptoms of this fear include self-consciousness and timidity when meeting strangers, nervousness, lack of poise, lack of charm and ability to make decisions or express opinions, inferiority complex, imitating others, extravagance, lack of initiative and confidence, lack of ambition, and mental and physical laziness. If you experience any of the above symptoms, you may have the fear of criticism. Search "Affirmation Tracing Journal" to view more journals!

Download or read book Breathe.: a Guided Healing Journal for Black Men written by Brennan Allan Steele and published by . This book was released on 2020-08-22 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Write your story. Reflect on your identity. Understand your emotions. And breathe, brother. Breathing as a black man, has now, more than ever, officially become an act of resistance. From Michael Brown to George Floyd, it is evident that saying "I can't breathe" is not a cry for help worth listening to; rather, it is the green light for taking one's life. Add to that the continued violence towards black folks in general, and black existence is seen as threatening. In addition to witnessing such racial trauma, black men specifically have often become subject to the racist narratives of society while also lacking in adequate space for healing and personal development. "breathe" serves to provide space for healing and to promote a journey to wholeness for black men. Along this 45-day guided journal journey, black men will reclaim the narrative of their own story, process the impact of their identity on their existence, and more fully understand the range of emotions that they feel. This guided journal is perfect for black men ages 16+ and will guide them through prompts and activities to which black men don't often give thought. Grab a copy for yourself, your bruhs, your family members, and join the movement, brotha. Follow the movement on IG: @breathebrotha.

Book excerpt: From the acclaimed poet behind bone, an exploration of how we can meet our truest selves, the ones we've always been meant to become Yrsa Daley-Ward's words have resonated with hundreds of thousands of readers--through her books of poetry and memoir, bone and The Terrible; through her writing for Beyoncé on Black Is King; and through her always illuminating Instagram posts. Now, in The How, Yrsa encourages readers to begin, as she puts it, the great work of meeting ourselves. This isn't the self we've built up in response to our surroundings, or the self we manufacture to please the people around us, but instead, our most intimate self, the one we visit in dreams, the one that calls to us from a glimmering future. With a mix of short lyrical musings and her signature stunning poetry, Yrsa gently takes readers by the hand, encouraging them to join her as she explores how we can remove our filters, and see and feel more of who we really are behind the preconceived notions of propriety and manners we've accumulated with age. With a beautiful design and intriguing meditations, The How can be used to start conversations, to prompt writing, to delve deeper--whether you're solo, or with friends, on your feet or writing from the solace of home.

Book Synopsis The Politics of Self-Determination by : Volker Prott
Download or read book The Politics of Self-Determination written by Volker Prott and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2016-09-08 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Politics of Self-Determination examines the territorial restructuring of Europe between 1917 and 1923, when a radically new and highly fragile peace order was established. It opens with an exploration of the peace planning efforts of Great Britain, France, and the United States in the final phase of the First World War. It then provides an in-depth view on the practice of Allied border drawing at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919, focussing on a new factor in foreign policymaking-academic experts employed by the three Allied states to aid in peace planning and border drawing. This examination of the international level is juxtaposed with two case studies of disputed regions where the newly drawn borders caused ethnic violence, albeit with different results: the return of Alsace-Lorraine to France in 1918-19, and the Greek-Turkish War between 1919 and 1922. A final chapter investigates the approach of the League of Nations to territorial revisionism and minority rights, thereby assessing the chances and dangers of the Paris peace order over the course of the 1920s and 1930s. Volker Prott argues that at both the international and the local levels, the 'temptation of violence' drove key actors to simplify the acclaimed principle of national self-determination and use ethnic definitions of national identity. While the Allies thus hoped to avoid uncomfortable decisions and painstaking efforts to establish an elusive popular will, local elites, administrations, and paramilitary leaders soon used ethnic notions of identity to mobilise popular support under the guise of international legitimacy. Henceforth, national self-determination ceased to be a tool of peace-making and instead became an ideology of violent resistance.
