Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Composing Software Components by : Dick Hamlet
Download or read book Composing Software Components written by Dick Hamlet and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-08-13 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Software components and component-based software development (CBSD) are acknowledged as the best approach for constructing quality software at reasonable cost. Composing Software Components: A Software-testing Perspective describes a 10-year investigation into the underlying principles of CBSD. By restricting attention to the simplest cases, startling results are obtained: • Components are tested using only executable code. Their behavior is recorded and presented graphically. • Functional and non-functional behavior of systems synthesized from components are calculated from component tests alone. No access to components themselves is required. • Fast, accurate tools support every aspect of CBSD from design through debugging. Case studies of CBSD also illuminate software testing in general, particularly an expanded role for unit testing and the treatment of non-functional software properties. This unique book: • Contains more than a dozen case studies of fully worked-out component synthesis, with revealing insights into fundamental testing issues. • Presents an original, fundamental theory of component composition that includes persistent state and concurrency, based on functional software testing rather than proof-of-programs. • Comes with free supporting software with tutorial examples and data for replication of examples. The Perl software has been tested on Linux, Macintosh, and Windows platforms. Full documentation is provided. • Includes anecdotes and insights from the author’s 50-year career in computing as systems programmer, manager, researcher, and teacher. Composing Software Components: A Software-testing Perspective will help software researchers and practitioners to understand the underlying principles of component testing. Advanced students in computer science, engineering, and mathematics can also benefit from the book as a supplemental text and reference.

Download or read book Reading Connections written by Cheryl Kamei-Hannan and published by AFB Press. This book was released on 2015-05 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reading Connections: Strategies for Teaching Students with Visual Impairments offers an in-depth and user-friendly guide for understanding reading instruction for teachers and professionals seeking to improve the reading skills of their students who are visually impaired. The book addresses in detail the essential components of reading--phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension--as well as other key reading components and subskills. While this book addresses the needs of students who read print, braille, or both, much of the book is also consistent with strategies for teaching reading to students who have, or are at risk for, developing reading disabilities. Teachers of students with visual impairments, as well as family members and other professionals who work with children who are blind or visually impaired, will find within this book a repertoire of strategies and activities for creating a balanced, comprehensive plan of reading instruction for each student and for teaching the essential reading skills necessary for students' success.
Book Synopsis Component-Based Software Development for Embedded Systems by : Colin Atkinson
Download or read book Component-Based Software Development for Embedded Systems written by Colin Atkinson and published by Springer. This book was released on 2005-11-19 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Embedded systems are ubiquitous. They appear in cell phones, microwave ovens, refrigerators, consumer electronics, cars, and jets. Some of these embedded s- tems are safety- or security-critical such as in medical equipment, nuclear plants, and X-by-wire control systems in naval, ground and aerospace transportation - hicles. With the continuing shift from hardware to software, embedded systems are increasingly dominated by embedded software. Embedded software is complex. Its engineering inherently involves a mul- disciplinary interplay with the physics of the embedding system or environment. Embedded software also comes in ever larger quantity and diversity. The next generation of premium automobiles will carry around one gigabyte of binary code. The proposed US DDX submarine is e?ectively a ?oating embedded so- ware system, comprising 30 billion lines of code written in over 100 programming languages. Embedded software is expensive. Cost estimates are quoted at around US$15– 30 per line (from commencement to shipping). In the defense realm, costs can range up to $100, while for highly critical applications, such as the Space Shuttle, the cost per line approximates $1,000. In view of the exponential increase in complexity, the projected costs of future embedded software are staggering.

Book Synopsis A Strategic Analysis of Chinese Airline Industry under Online Environment by : Hang Liu
Download or read book A Strategic Analysis of Chinese Airline Industry under Online Environment written by Hang Liu and published by Scientific Research Publishing, Inc. USA. This book was released on 2018-03-29 with total page 111 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The boom of internet is causing another industrial revolution. It is necessary for Chinese airlines to develop E-business in order to keep their competitive advantages. China Southern Airlines is the first Chinese airlines to enter E-business sector and is fairly successful in Chinese civil aviation market. However, comparing with British Airways, current E-business strategy in this company quite falls behind. After a strategic analysis, it is clearly that E-business is a profitable strategy for China Southern Airlines and should be applied further. It is quite urgent for China Southern Airlines to enlarge and improve its E-business strategies so that it can consolidate its leading position in this market segment. Therefore, some reasonable future strategic choices are put forward and a recommendation is given. On the other hand, the explosion of Chinese economy provides a rapid growth of air traffic world widely. British Airways and other foreign airlines would increase their profits significantly from Chinese air market.

Book Synopsis Auditing IT Infrastructures for Compliance by : Martin Weiss
Download or read book Auditing IT Infrastructures for Compliance written by Martin Weiss and published by Jones & Bartlett Publishers. This book was released on 2010-09-15 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PART OF THE NEW JONES & BARTLETT LEARNING INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY & ASSURANCE SERIES! Information systems and IT infrastructures are no longer void from governance and compliance given recent U.S.-based compliancy laws that were consummated during the early to mid-2000s. As a result of these laws, both public sector and private sector verticals must have proper security controls in place. Auditing IT Infrastructures for Compliance identifies and explains what each of these compliancy laws requires. It then goes on to discuss how to audit an IT infrastructure for compliance based on the laws and the need to protect and secure business and consumer privacy data. It closes with a resource for readers who desire more information on becoming skilled at IT auditing and IT compliance auditing.
