Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: -- Verse-by-verse commentary of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon -- Much research and detail on the life of Solomon is presented -- An in-depth study for the serious student of the BibleIsn't it amazing that a man who had 700 wives and 300 concubines and ruled a country for 40 years still had time to write three of the most profound books of the Bible? Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon all show marks of divine inspiration, and each can be a blessing to the reader, but why would God choose a man who turned to idolatry to write these books? Dr. Henry Morris, author of the commentaries Treasures in the Psalms and The Remarkable Record of Job, addresses the enigma of Solomon and presents a verse-by-verse commentary on his writings. Having studied the Bible for 60 years, Dr. Morris' wisdom is also quite remarkable, as you will quickly learn as you read The Remarkable Wisdom of Solomon.

This book was released on 2015-07-19 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Biblical Commentary on the Proverbs of Solomon, Vol. 1 The volume which is here presented to English readers is the first of three which will contain the Solomonic writings. They form the last section of the "Keil and Delitzsch" series of Commentaries on the Books of the Old Testament Scriptures. The remaining volume on the Proverbs, as well as that on Ecclesiastes and the Canticles, which has also been prepared by Delitzsch, and is now in course of publication in Germany, will be issued with as little delay as possible. In this translation I have endeavoured accurately to reproduce the original, so as to bring the student as much as possible into direct contact with the learned commentator himself. Any explanatory notes or words I have thought it right to add are enclosed in square brackets [ ], so as to be easily distinguishable. The Arabic and Syriac words occurring in the original have been, with very few exceptions, printed in English characters. In their vocalization I have followed the system of Forbes in his Arabic Grammar, so that the student will be readily able to restore the original. When nothing depends on the inflection of these words, the consonants only are printed. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over twenty-five years in the making, this much-anticipated commentary promises to be the standard study of Proverbs for years to come. Written by eminent Old Testament scholar Bruce Waltke, this two-volume commentary is unquestionably the most comprehensive work on Proverbs available. Grounded in the new literary criticism that has so strengthened biblical interpretation of late, Waltke's commentary on Proverbs demonstrates the profound, ongoing relevance of this Old Testament book for Christian faith and life. A thorough introduction addresses such issues as text and versions, structure, authorship, and theology. The detailed commentary itself explains and elucidates Proverbs as "theological literature." Waltke's highly readable style -- evident even in his original translation of the Hebrew text -- makes his scholarly work accessible to teachers, pastors, Bible students, and general readers alike.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Testament of Judah, like the other Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs, is considered to be a Jewish work that was added to by Christians in the Christian era. It is unclear when it comes from, however, fragments of the Testaments of Judah and and Naphtali have been found among the Dead Sea Scrolls in Hebrew, dating to between 37 BC and 44 AD. Given the number of references to primordial gods, it is unlikely to be the work of a Pharisee, and was likely translated into Hebrew from Aramaic or Greek. As it has some of the same anti-Levitical content as the Testament of Levi, it was likely a text written by the Tobian Jews mentioned in 2nd Maccabees, that lived in Seleucid controlled regions.
