First, he had to help a busty belle find her husband's killers. But the lusty brunette wanted the worthless sidewinders dead by her own hand and Morgan spread out in her bed. Then, he had to pump a randy redhead for information about the desperadoes' boss. Between hot lead and cool ladies, Morgan would have his hands full, his six-gun empty, and the Wild West exploding with action. DERRINGER DANGER Someone had shot, poisoned, and mutilated the wealthiest rancher in Jackson, Wyoming, and Buckskin Lee Morgan had a trio of tempting tarts as suspects. Whether it was the lusty widow, the hellcat daughter, or the town floozy, Morgan would give them all the third degree. He knew that in murder, sleuthing, and loving, the third time's a charm, and he'd be thrice blessed if the tantalizing threesome didn't leave begging for more--three times over.

Book Synopsis Vengeance in a Small Town by : George R. Nielsen
Download or read book Vengeance in a Small Town written by George R. Nielsen and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-02-08 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One hundred years ago, in 1911, two young men lost their lives: one from a stab wound and the other by mob action. In an attempt to explain how such violence could take place in a prosperous and forward-looking community, the author first examines the growth of Thorndale as a small agricultural town on the railroad and then connects Thorndales geographical setting in central Texas with its tradition of violence. This particular lynching was unusual in that it took place at night, thereby complicating apprehension of the members of the mob. However, as a result of intervention by the governor, four men were arrested for the crime and three were tried. The lynching was also unusual because the victim was of Mexican heritage thereby inciting the Mexican community to voice its outrage and demand justice. The nature of its reaction testifies to the political awareness of the Mexican minority and also provides an insight into its perception of Anglo society.

Book excerpt: Spaghetti Westerns--mostly produced in Italy or by Italians but made throughout Europe--were bleaker, rougher, grittier imitations of Hollywood Westerns, focusing on heroes only slightly less evil than the villains. After a main filmography covering 558 Spaghetti Westerns, another section provides filmographies of personnel--actors and actresses, directors, musical composers, scriptwriters, cinematographers. Appendices provide lists of the popular Django films and the Sartana films, a listing of U.S.-made Spaghetti Western lookalikes, top ten and twenty lists and a list of the genre's worst.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A murderous drifter. A grieving husband. A range war about to explode. Bounty of Vengeance introduces Paul Colt’s sweeping Bounty Trilogy. Former Cheyenne Sheriff Ty Ledger and bounty hunter Johnny Roth pursue a half-breed serial killer responsible for the death of Ledger’s wife and unborn child. The bloody trail leads to Lincoln County, New Mexico, and a town girding for war. Ledger and Roth follow the killer to an encounter with renegade Comanche that has the pair counting their bullets, making sure each has one left for his final escape. Colt’s action races across the pages of history set against the run-up to the Lincoln County War. Ty Ledger, Johnny Roth, Lucy Sample, and Dawn Sky take their places beside John Chisum, John Tunstall, and James Dolan as the principals square off in what will become the making of legends. Told in a gritty style reminiscent of Robert B. Parker, Colt transports the reader to events that test the mettle of men and the hearts of the women they love.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: German Jews who could, escaped the extermination frenzy of Hitler against the Jews. They had lost relatives—murdered by the Nazis-- and fled to America. The men were drafted into the U.S. Army. Many of these were ordered to Camp Ritchie and its Military Intelligence Center because of their ability to speak native German. Intensively trained to use their native language abilities, they became known as the “Ritchie Boys.” These Ritchie Boys were trained to interrogate German prisoners of war to obtain current battlefield information and plans to help the Army commanders anticipate the German military moves and defeat them; they translated and interpreted German documents taken off prisoners and dead Germans reflecting current German military thinking. They risked their lives sneaking behind the German lines to capture prisoners and documents. They turned out to be a tremendous asset to Generals like George Patton, commander of the Third Army, and John Gavin, commander of the 82nd Airborne Division. The Ritchie Boys did not avoid danger, and many lost their lives in the war against--and defeating--the Nazis.
