My prob lems, when I really pause for reﬂection, Weren't so weighty after all, usually a current heart interest or something; but Pie always listened attentively, giving in her slow meditative manner, h'er unbiased opinion at the conclusion. What always amazed me about her, was the utter lack of concern over a gay social life. To be sure, she figured largely In our bull ses sions over cokes late at night, and our impromptu get-togethers, but When it came to dating and our college dances, Pie just didn't play a part. The singers were actually members of its sister organization, The Marine Corps Women's Reserve Band of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Today, few remember these all-female military bands because only a small number of their performances were broadcast or pressed to vinyl.
