Book Synopsis The Regional and Transregional in Romanesque Europe by : John McNeill
Download or read book The Regional and Transregional in Romanesque Europe written by John McNeill and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-11-29 with total page 654 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Regional and Transregional in Romanesque Europe considers the historiography and usefulness of regional categories and in so doing explores the strength, durability, mutability, and geographical scope of regional and transregional phenomena in the Romanesque period. This book addresses the complex question of the significance of regions in the creation of Romanesque, particularly in relation to transregional and pan-European artistic styles and approaches. The categorization of Romanesque by region was a cornerstone of 19th- and 20th-century scholarship, albeit one vulnerable to the application of anachronistic concepts of regional identity. Individual chapters explore the generation and reception of forms, the conditions that give rise to the development of transregional styles and the agencies that cut across territorial boundaries. There are studies of regional styles in Aquitaine, Castile, Sicily, Hungary, and Scandinavia; workshops in Worms and the Welsh Marches; the transregional nature of liturgical furnishings; the cultural geography of the new monastic orders; metalworking in Hildesheim and the valley of the Meuse; and the links which connect Piemonte with Conques. The Regional and Transregional in Romanesque Europe offers a new vision of regions in the creation of Romanesque relevant to archaeologists, art historians, and historians alike.
Book Synopsis Spoken Word and Social Practice by :
Download or read book Spoken Word and Social Practice written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2015-07-14 with total page 517 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spoken Word and Social Practice: Orality in Europe (1400-1700) addresses historians and literary scholars. It aims to recapture oral culture in a variety of literary and non-literary sources, tracking the echo of women’s voices, on trial, or bantering and gossiping in literary works, and recapturing those of princes and magistrates, townsmen, villagers, mariners, bandits, and songsmiths. Almost all medieval and early modern writing was marked by the oral. Spoken words and turns of phrase are bedded in writings, and the mental habits of a speaking world shaped texts. Writing also shaped speech; the oral and the written zones had a porous, busy boundary. Cross-border traffic is central to this study, as is the power, range, utility, and suppleness of speech. Contributors are Matthias Bähr, Richard Blakemore, Michael Braddick, Rosanna Cantavella, Thomas V. Cohen, Gillian Colclough, Jan Dumolyn, Susana Gala Pellicer, Jelle Haemers, Marcus Harmes, Elizabeth Horodowich, Carolina Losada, Virginia Reinburg, Anne Regent-Susini, Joseph T. Book Synopsis Biocrust-forming cyanobacteria inoculation to restore degraded soils from dryland ecosystems by : José Raúl Román Fernández
Download or read book Biocrust-forming cyanobacteria inoculation to restore degraded soils from dryland ecosystems written by José Raúl Román Fernández and published by Universidad Almería. This book was released on 2021-03-12 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Ti (III) catalyzed synthesis of exocyclic allenes and development of new titanocene complexes by : Carmen Hernández Cervantes
Download or read book Ti (III) catalyzed synthesis of exocyclic allenes and development of new titanocene complexes written by Carmen Hernández Cervantes and published by Universidad Almería. This book was released on 2016-01-25 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis deals with the Ti(III) catalyzed synthesis of exocyclic allenes and the development of new titanocene complexes. It is structured in six chapters: Chapter 1 is a general introduction about the generation and reactivity of [TiCp2Cl]. A review about the different [TiCp2Cl] catalyzed or promoted reactions reported to date, is included. Chapter 2 is divided in introduction and results and discussion. In the introduction, an overview about the promoted or catalyzed methodologies, already available for the synthesis of α-allenols, is included. Results and discussion section is sub-divided in other two parts. The first one describes the synthesis of carbocyclic or nitrogen heterocyclic precursors bearing a propargyl halide and a carbonyl group. Next, the [TiCp2Cl] catalyzed synthesis of exocyclic allenols is studied. Additionally, a mechanistic study through deuterium incorporation and reaction of secondary propargyl halide precursors is performed. In the second part, the preparation of oxygen precursors and its cyclization are studied. In chapter 3, there is an introduction about enantioselective syntheses using chiral titanocene catalysts. The results and discussion section deals with the enantioselective cyclization of some of the precursors previously prepared using precatalyst (R,R)-ethylenebis(4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1-indenyl) titanium(IV), also known as Brintzinger complex. A formal synthesis of the alkaloid (})-stemoamide is carried out in chapter 4, being the key step for this synthesis the generation of an α-allenol derivative through a [TiCp2Cl] catalyzedcyclization. This chapter is also divided in an introduction, in which a review about the different methods of synthesis of stemoamide are included, and results and discussion. Chapter 5 compiles the project that I have developed during my research stay at University of Bonn, under the supervision of Prof. Gansauer. The target of this project was to develop an azide functionalized short linker titanocene derivative with the aim of linking it to a surface by click chemistry. The chapter is divided in introduction and results and discussion. In the introduction the different methodologies for the synthesis of titanocene derivatives are reviewed. This section also includes the background in which this project is based. Chapter 6 includes the experimental part. In this chapter all reactions performed during the development of this thesis, as well as the spectroscopic characterization of compounds, are compiled.
Book Synopsis Dimensional Approach to the conceptualization and measurement of the broad autism phenotype by : Marta Godoy Giménez
Download or read book Dimensional Approach to the conceptualization and measurement of the broad autism phenotype written by Marta Godoy Giménez and published by Universidad Almería. This book was released on 2023-06-26 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present dissertation has converged the knowledge of three fundamental areas of psychology: cognitive psychology, psychobiology, and psychometrics with the purpose of improving the operational and relational definitions of the broad autism phenotype (BAP) and its measurement process. Especially, it lies essence in psychometrics and its role in reconnecting how people show certain milder autistic behaviours with a theoretical and psychometric model capable of representing an operationalization of the construct in the Spanish and English general populations and developing a new measurement tool. This book is organized into three blocks: in the theoretical framework, we define autism (and BAP) from a dimensional perspective and expose the state of the art in its conceptualization and measurement. We finish by establishing the objectives and the research plan. The second block deepens into the empirical studies conducted during my Ph.D. apprenticeship. The first study presents the Spanish adaptation of the Broad AautismPhenotype Questionnaire (BAPQ), and the second study deepens into the BAPQ psychometric properties from the item response theory (IRT) perspective. In the third study , the ASD and BAP definitions are harmonized, and then a group of experts attempts to reshape the items of the most applied tests to assess BAP into its updated operationalization. The sixth chapter introduces the Broad Autism Phenotype-International Test (BAP-IT), which assesses the BAP two-domain operationalization in two different languages, Spanish and English. Finally, the third block exposes a general discussion of the overall results, draws certain conclusions, states the research limitations, and delineates future research approaches.

Book Synopsis Concepts éthiques et moraux by : Marie-Sol Ortolá
Download or read book Concepts éthiques et moraux written by Marie-Sol Ortolá and published by Presses Universitaires de Nancy. This book was released on 2015 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. [4] of cover.
Book Synopsis Motivos & estrategias by : Carlos Alba Peinado
Download or read book Motivos & estrategias written by Carlos Alba Peinado and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 712 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
