Download or read book Cohomologies p-adiques et applications arithmétiques (III) written by Pierre Berthelot and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The third (and the last) volume of the Proceedings of the p-adic semester at Institut Poincaré in 1997 contains two long articles. The first, by J.-M. Fontaine, treats several topics from the theory of p-adic Galois representations: Sen's theory of C-representations, its generalization to BdR -representations, sketch of the proof by Colmez and Fontaine of the fundamental conjecture weakly admissible implies admissible, some remarks on the period rings. The second article is the long-awaited paper of K. Kato, which concludes the proof of one of the most spectacular number theoretical results from the 1990's, namely "one half" of the Main Conjecture of Iwasawa Theory for classical modular forms and its applications to the p-adic conjecture of Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer (and its generalizations).
Book Synopsis p-adic Differential Equations by : Kiran S. Kedlaya
Download or read book p-adic Differential Equations written by Kiran S. Kedlaya and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2010-06-10 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the last 50 years the theory of p-adic differential equations has grown into an active area of research in its own right, and has important applications to number theory and to computer science. This book, the first comprehensive and unified introduction to the subject, improves and simplifies existing results as well as including original material. Based on a course given by the author at MIT, this modern treatment is accessible to graduate students and researchers. Exercises are included at the end of each chapter to help the reader review the material, and the author also provides detailed references to the literature to aid further study.

Book Synopsis p-adic Hodge Theory by : Bhargav Bhatt
Download or read book p-adic Hodge Theory written by Bhargav Bhatt and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-06-15 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This proceedings volume contains articles related to the research presented at the 2017 Simons Symposium on p-adic Hodge theory. This symposium was focused on recent developments in p-adic Hodge theory, especially those concerning integral questions and their connections to notions in algebraic topology. This volume features original research articles as well as articles that contain new research and survey some of these recent developments. It is the first of three volumes dedicated to p-adic Hodge theory.
Book Synopsis Berkeley Lectures on p-adic Geometry by : Peter Scholze
Download or read book Berkeley Lectures on p-adic Geometry written by Peter Scholze and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2020-05-26 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Berkeley Lectures on p-adic Geometry presents an important breakthrough in arithmetic geometry. In 2014, leading mathematician Peter Scholze delivered a series of lectures at the University of California, Berkeley, on new ideas in the theory of p-adic geometry. Building on his discovery of perfectoid spaces, Scholze introduced the concept of “diamonds,” which are to perfectoid spaces what algebraic spaces are to schemes. The introduction of diamonds, along with the development of a mixed-characteristic shtuka, set the stage for a critical advance in the discipline. In this book, Peter Scholze and Jared Weinstein show that the moduli space of mixed-characteristic shtukas is a diamond, raising the possibility of using the cohomology of such spaces to attack the Langlands conjectures for a reductive group over a p-adic field. This book follows the informal style of the original Berkeley lectures, with one chapter per lecture. It explores p-adic and perfectoid spaces before laying out the newer theory of shtukas and their moduli spaces. Points of contact with other threads of the subject, including p-divisible groups, p-adic Hodge theory, and Rapoport-Zink spaces, are thoroughly explained. Berkeley Lectures on p-adic Geometry will be a useful resource for students and scholars working in arithmetic geometry and number theory.

Book Synopsis Automorphic Forms and Galois Representations: Volume 1 by : Fred Diamond
Download or read book Automorphic Forms and Galois Representations: Volume 1 written by Fred Diamond and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2014-10-16 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Automorphic forms and Galois representations have played a central role in the development of modern number theory, with the former coming to prominence via the celebrated Langlands program and Wiles' proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. This two-volume collection arose from the 94th LMS-EPSRC Durham Symposium on 'Automorphic Forms and Galois Representations' in July 2011, the aim of which was to explore recent developments in this area. The expository articles and research papers across the two volumes reflect recent interest in p-adic methods in number theory and representation theory, as well as recent progress on topics from anabelian geometry to p-adic Hodge theory and the Langlands program. The topics covered in volume one include the Shafarevich Conjecture, effective local Langlands correspondence, p-adic L-functions, the fundamental lemma, and other topics of contemporary interest.

Book Synopsis Calabi-Yau Varieties and Mirror Symmetry by : Noriko Yui
Download or read book Calabi-Yau Varieties and Mirror Symmetry written by Noriko Yui and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea of mirror symmetry originated in physics, but in recent years, the field of mirror symmetry has exploded onto the mathematical scene. It has inspired many new developments in algebraic and arithmetic geometry, toric geometry, the theory of Riemann surfaces, and infinite-dimensional Lie algebras among others. The developments in physics stimulated the interest of mathematicians in Calabi-Yau varieties. This led to the realization that the time is ripe for mathematicians, armed with many concrete examples and alerted by the mirror symmetry phenomenon, to focus on Calabi-Yau varieties and to test for these special varieties some of the great outstanding conjectures, e.g., the modularity conjecture for Calabi-Yau threefolds defined over the rationals, the Bloch-Beilinson conjectures, regulator maps of higher algebraic cycles, Picard-Fuchs differential equations, GKZ hypergeometric systems, and others. The articles in this volume report on current developments. The papers are divided roughly into two categories: geometric methods and arithmetic methods. One of the significant outcomes of the workshop is that we are finally beginning to understand the mirror symmetry phenomenon from the arithmetic point of view, namely, in terms of zeta-functions and L-series of mirror pairs of Calabi-Yau threefolds. The book is suitable for researchers interested in mirror symmetry and string theory.
