Understanding how and why God created woman enables both women and men to recognize the rightful contributions that God designed women to make for the welfare of humanity. Despite millennia of misguided efforts by men to control and dominate them, women were originally designed by God to be coequal with men and to have complete freedom to use any gift and to fulfill any role that he has given to them. That design is still God's ideal for the God-fashioned woman, and includes the following subjects: Designed to Be Feminine, Designed for Beauty, Designed for Purity and Modesty, Designed for Sexual Fulfillment, Designed for Nurture and Relationship, Designed for Freedom. Whatever your race, ethnicity, gender, faith, or social status, this book and the other volumes in this series will literally set you free from misconceptions that have restricted the roles of women. Book excerpt: Since time immemorial, women have been the most consistently and universally abused people group on Planet Earth, as men in virtually every human culture have systematically, unrelentingly, and often violently dominated women . Unfortunately women of faith have also been virtually bound in chains of submission and gagged by demands for silence since the end of the apostolic era. God and Women brings serious biblical and historical scholarship to bear on the role of women in family, society, and church in an analysis of God's original intentions for women and for men at the moment when he created humanity. Whether you are a woman or a man, this book and the other volumes in this series will literally set you free, challenging you to think and to act on divine truths from the Hebraic foundations of your faith. You will clearly see God's original design and intent for women, and you will start tearing down prison walls that have deprived half of God's children of the freedom to pursue his gifts and calling in the family, in the society, and especially in the community of faith.

Book excerpt: Family Worship offers solid solutions to the increasingly dysfunctional family in today's secularized society, and it provides constructive suggestions to those who want to reestablish their homes on biblical foundations. The Hebraic foundations fo the Christain faith establish the home as a small temple. This insight dramatically changes the dynamics of the home for those who believe in the God of the Bible and in his will for their lives. The Christian family was always designed by God to be the center for social, educational, and spiritual growth and maturity--a place of fellowswhip, study, and prayer. Now, you, too can experience these same powerful dyunamics that made the home the center of sanctity and security that it was for the biblical peoples. Family Worship presents these vivid images of a rich biblically Hebraic tradition for Christians today: The Domestic Temple, A Temple of Blessing, The Family Altar, A House of Prayer, A House of Study, Temples in Time, The Domestic Priesthood, and The Domestic Church. As you read this book, you'll be amazed at how your own family life will be revolutionized and enriched simply by restoring biblically Hebraic dynamics to your home.

In this original book, John W. Lango takes some distinctive approaches to the ethics of armed conflict. DT A revisionist approach that involves generalising traditional just war principles, so that they are applicable by all sorts of responsible agents to all forms of armed conflict DT A cosmopolitan approach that features the Security Council DT A preventive approach that emphasises alternatives to armed force, including negotiation, nonviolent action and peacekeeping missions DT A human rights approach that encompasses not only armed humanitarian intervention but also armed invasion, armed revolution and all other forms of armed conflict Lango shows how these can be applied to all forms of armed conflict, however large or small: from interstate wars to UN peacekeeping missions, and from civil wars counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Woman’s Bible (1895-1898) is a work of religious and political nonfiction by American women’s rights activist Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Despite its popular success, The Woman’s Bible caused a rift in the movement between Stanton and her supporters and those who believed that to wade into religious waters would hurt the suffragist cause. Reactions from the press, political establishment, and much of the reading public were overwhelmingly negative, accusing Stanton of blasphemy and sacrilege while refusing to engage with the book’s message: to reconsider the historical reception of the Bible in order to make room for women to be afforded equality in their private and public lives. Working with a Revising Committee of 26 members of the National American Woman Suffrage Association, Stanton sought to provide an updated commentary on the Bible that would highlight passages allowing for an interpretation of scripture harmonious with the cause of the women’s rights movement. Inspired by activist and Quaker Lucretia Mott’s use of Bible verses to dispel the arguments of bigots opposed to women’s rights and abolition, Stanton hoped to establish a new way of framing the history and religious representation of women that could resist similar arguments that held up the Bible as precedent for the continued oppression of women. Starting with an interpretation of the Genesis story of Adam and Eve, Stanton attempts to show where men and women are treated as equals in the Bible, eventually working through both the Old and New Testaments. In its day, The Woman’s Bible was a radically important revisioning of women’s place in scripture that Stanton and her collaborators hoped would open the door for women to obtain the rights they had long been systematically denied. With a beautifully designed cover and professionally typeset manuscript, this edition of Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s The Woman’s Bible is a classic of American literature reimagined for modern readers.
