Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this book is to educate users and interpreters of ECGs on how to understand and interpret Vectorcardiograms. Vectorcardiograms are not new but hitherto their derivation has been a time-consuming process. New computer technology has enabled a VCG to be derived from the conventional ECG machine which is in daily use throughout the world.
Book Synopsis Quantitation in Cardiology by : H.A. Snellen
Download or read book Quantitation in Cardiology written by H.A. Snellen and published by Springer. This book was released on 2011-10-09 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book comprises the essential records from a Boerhaave course given in June 1971 for specialists in cardiology and other fields of internal medicine interested in the subject of quantitation in cardiology. It is evident that in the wide field of medicine, and particularly in cardiology, there is a growing need for exact and detailed information in conjunction with existing diag nostic methods. This is apparent in the greater precision in anatomical and haemodynamic details required by the thoracic surgeon as the number of available heart operations gradually increases. In retrospect it is hardly surprising that the high initial mortality after the introduction of each operation depended to a large extent upon the degree of accuracy with which the diagnosis was made. Another urgent need for precise and quantitative information became apparent when monitoring of high-risk patients, in order to forestall compli cations and/or death, became routine. The same applies for the diagnostic procedures used to estimate the patient's chances of surviving an operation and/or rehabilitation after a serious incident, such as myocardial infarction. In these fields there is a vast amount of data to be handled and - in modern diagnostic procedures - it must be processed so rapidly that the human mind cannot suffice and computer equipment has becomeindispensable.

Book Synopsis Brugada Phenocopy by : Adrian Baranchuk
Download or read book Brugada Phenocopy written by Adrian Baranchuk and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2018-03-28 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Brugada Phenocopy: The Art of Recognizing the Brugada ECG Pattern details all aspects associated with alternative diagnosis to Brugada Syndrome (BrS). Coverage includes how to identify the proper ECG pattern, what to do to investigate for BrP, and how to avoid misinterpretations and the use of unnecessary and expensive treatments. Chapters are written by experienced professionals, many of whom are colleagues that initially described this condition. This easy to use volume is a must have reference for researchers of cardiology, cardiologists, electrocardiologists, internists, emergency care doctors and students, residents and fellows. - Assists in the proper recognition of the Brugada ECG patterns and how to distinguish true BrS from other conditions with identical ECG - Expands understanding on how to properly recognize the ECG of Brugada patterns - Contains access to a companion website with video to enhance understanding of proper measurement of the beta angle (Chevallier) and the base of the triangle (Serra)

Book Synopsis Left Septal Fascicular Block by : Andrés R. Pérez-Riera
Download or read book Left Septal Fascicular Block written by Andrés R. Pérez-Riera and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-04-05 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides clinical and electrovectorcardiographic evidence of the existence of left septal fascicular blocks and demonstrates the clinical importance of these blocks in the clinical scenario of acute coronary syndrome. There are currently no standard criteria for detecting conduction defects involving the third left fascicle, the septal or median fascicle, and the very existence of such defects is still a matter of controversy. This book provides acceptable and consistent terminology and definitions for the electrovectorcardiographic diagnosis of a left septal fascicular block. Left Septal Fascicular Block: Characterization, Differential Diagnosis and Clinical Significance is an original and unique book that sheds light on an important topic of discussion in cardiac electrophysiology.
Book Synopsis Fetal Electrocardiography by : Mang Zing Allan Chang
Download or read book Fetal Electrocardiography written by Mang Zing Allan Chang and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2001-09-28 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This important book summarises a century of research and practical applications in fetal electrocardiography. Although fetal ECG is most commonly used for the calculation of fetal heart rates, other parameters have been employed in the prediction of fetal acidons. The book presents new approaches to the interpretation and analysis of the fetal ECG signal and discusses possible new approaches to the clinical exploitation of the electrical activity of the fetal heart. The authors have made numerous contributions to the study of fetal electrocardiography over the last three decades.

Book Synopsis Textbook of Clinical Electrocardiography by : Antonio Bayés de Luna
Download or read book Textbook of Clinical Electrocardiography written by Antonio Bayés de Luna and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 521 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last 15 years we have had the opportunity to teach Electrocardiography to many different types of student: doctors preparing to become cardiologists, cardiologists attending weekly 'refresher' sessions at our hospital, general practitioners who wish to become adept at electrocardiography and attend our yearly courses and, finally, the medical students of the Universidad Aut6noma of Barcelona. We cover everything with these students from the basics of electrophysiology to applied electrocardiographic semiology. This quadruple experience has proved stimulating, constantly motivating the search for better and more precise material, and the most appropriate didactic presentation for each type of student, each of whom has different requirements. I have always felt that didactic capability is not related to the intelligence of the professor, or to the amount of knowledge this person possesses, but really depends on the 'quality' of this knowledge, the 'desire' to transmit it and the 'capacity' to adapt to each teaching situation.
