Book excerpt: Excerpt from Eighty-Sixth Annual Report and Handbook of Information: The Church of the Holy Comforter, Burlington, North Carolina, May 7, 8, 1968 Since becoming your President I have been your official representative on a number of occasions. I have attended meetings of the Diocesan Council and addressed the Diocesan Convention. I was a member of the delegation to the Provincial Synodin Atlanta last spring and of the delegation to the Triennial Meeting of the Episcopal Churchwomen in Seattle in the Fall. I attended the opening of the academic year at St. Augustine's College in Raleigh and the dedication, in January, of the Chapel of the Nameless Woman at the North Caro lina Correctional Center for Women, to which you had generously contributed. These were all moving and rewarding experiences. I should like to thank those branches who have invited me to their meetings, and express again my regrets at having sometimes been forced to decline. It is by my visiting the branches and convocations, not especially to give the program, that we can best get to know and learn from one another. To those of you who attended Spring Planning Days I feel some apology is necessary as my general thoughts today are basically as I expressed them then, and may seem repetitious.
