Book Synopsis The Inviscid Chemical Nonequlibrium Flow Behind a Moving Normal Shock Wave by : Dominic J. Palumbo
Download or read book The Inviscid Chemical Nonequlibrium Flow Behind a Moving Normal Shock Wave written by Dominic J. Palumbo and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 31 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A time-dependent numerical scheme is used to solve for the chemical nonequilibrium profile a normal shock wave in air. The steady state equations are also integrated using a fourth order Runge-Kutta technique and a comparison is made with the time-dependent calculation. The results agree within one percent except in the region close to the shock. In this region the profiles differ because the time-dependent technique allows calculation through the shock (which is several mesh points in width) and as a result some dissociation occurs. Book Synopsis Shock Wave-Boundary-Layer Interactions by : Holger Babinsky
Download or read book Shock Wave-Boundary-Layer Interactions written by Holger Babinsky and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2011-09-12 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shock wave-boundary-layer interaction (SBLI) is a fundamental phenomenon in gas dynamics that is observed in many practical situations, ranging from transonic aircraft wings to hypersonic vehicles and engines. SBLIs have the potential to pose serious problems in a flowfield; hence they often prove to be a critical - or even design limiting - issue for many aerospace applications. This is the first book devoted solely to a comprehensive, state-of-the-art explanation of this phenomenon. It includes a description of the basic fluid mechanics of SBLIs plus contributions from leading international experts who share their insight into their physics and the impact they have in practical flow situations. This book is for practitioners and graduate students in aerodynamics who wish to familiarize themselves with all aspects of SBLI flows. It is a valuable resource for specialists because it compiles experimental, computational and theoretical knowledge in one place.

This book was released on 1977 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A theory, previously presented by the author, concerning turbulent boundary-layer development behind a shock moving with uniform speed is briefly reviewed. Book Synopsis Boundary Layer Behind Shock Or Thin Expansion Wave Moving Into Stationary Fluid by : Harold Mirels
Download or read book Boundary Layer Behind Shock Or Thin Expansion Wave Moving Into Stationary Fluid written by Harold Mirels and published by . This book was released on 1956 with total page 53 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The boundary layer behind a shock or thin expansion wave advancing into a stationary fluid has been determined. Laminar and turbulent boundary layers were considered. The wall surface temperature behind the wave was also investigated. The assumption of a thin expansion wave is valid for weak expansions but becomes progressively less accurate for strong expansion waves.
