Book Synopsis Search for Flavor-Changing Neutral Current Top Quark Decays t → Hq, with H → bb̅ , in pp Collisions at √s = 8 TeV with the ATLAS Detector by : Shota Tsiskaridze
Download or read book Search for Flavor-Changing Neutral Current Top Quark Decays t → Hq, with H → bb̅ , in pp Collisions at √s = 8 TeV with the ATLAS Detector written by Shota Tsiskaridze and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-08-02 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This PhD thesis focuses on the search for flavor-changing neutral currents in the decay of a top quark to an up-type quark (q = u, c) and the Standard Model Higgs boson, where the Higgs boson decays to bb. Further, the thesis presents the combination of this search for top quark pair events with other ATLAS searches – in the course of which the most restrictive bounds to date on tqH interactions were obtained. Following on from the discovery of the Higgs boson, it is particularly important to measure the Yukawa couplings of the Standard Model fermions; these parameters may provide crucial insights to help solve the flavor puzzle and may help reveal the presence of new physics before it is directly observed in experiments.

Book Synopsis Geography of Climate Change by : Richard Aspinall
Download or read book Geography of Climate Change written by Richard Aspinall and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-09-13 with total page 678 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Climate change is one of the inescapable themes of current times. Climate change confronts society in issues as diverse as domestic and international political debate and negotiation, discussion in the media and public opinion, land management choices and decisions, and concerns about environmental, social and economic priorities now and for the future. Climate change also spans spatial, temporal and organisational scales, and has strong links with nature-society relationships, environmental dynamics, and vulnerability. Understanding the full range of possible consequences of climate change is essential for informed decision making and debate. This book provides a collection of chapters that span environmental, social and economic aspects of climate change. Together the chapters provide a diverse and contrasting series that highlights the need to analyze, review and debate climate change and its possible impacts and consequences from multiple perspectives. The book also is intended to promote discussion and debate of a more integrated, inclusive and open approach to climate change and demonstrates the value of geography in addressing climate change issues. This book was originally published as a special issue of Annals of the Association of American Geographers.

Book Synopsis Residential Design Using AutoCAD 2015 by : Daniel John Stine
Download or read book Residential Design Using AutoCAD 2015 written by Daniel John Stine and published by SDC Publications. This book was released on 2014-04 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Residential Design Using AutoCAD 2015 is an introductory level tutorial which uses residential design exercises as the means to teach you AutoCAD 2015. Each book comes with a disc containing numerous video presentations in which the author shows and explains the many tools and techniques used in AutoCAD 2015. After completing this book you will have a well-rounded knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting that can be used in the industry and the satisfaction of having completed a set of residential drawings. This textbook starts with a basic introduction to AutoCAD 2015. The first three chapters are intended to get you familiar with the user interface and the most common menus and tools. Throughout the rest of the book you will design a residence through to its completion. Using step-by-step tutorial lessons, the residential project is followed through to create elevations, sections, details, etc. Throughout the project, new AutoCAD commands are covered at the appropriate time. Focus is placed on the most essential parts of a command rather than an exhaustive review of every sub-feature of a particular command. The Appendix contains a bonus section covering the fundamental principles of engineering graphics that relate to architecture. The disc that comes with this book contains extensive video instruction as well as bonus chapters that cover must know commands, sketching exercises, a roof study workbook and much more. About the Videos The videos contained on the included disc make it easy to see the menu selections and will make learning AutoCAD straightforward and simple. At the start of each chapter you are prompted to watch a video that previews the topics that will be covered in the proceeding chapter. This allows you to become familiar with the menu selections and techniques before you begin the tutorial. By watching these videos you will be more confident in what you are doing and have a better understanding of the desired outcome of each lesson.
