This book was released on 2016-11-03 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Behavior is a by-product of attitude. That is, what a man preconceives is what he let out in form of behavior. Attitude is a mental disposition towards one's self, another person, a thing i.e. it is the feeling given to any stimulus around us. No matter what the opportunities available to you; if you don't greet such opportunities with positive attitude, you are doomed to fail. Attitude is the off-spring of nature, nurture and environment. Nature refers to all genetically inherited traits; nurture talks about the accumulation of life and living experiences (customs, tradition or culture) over time, while environment is centered on our present surroundings. William James an American Psychologist posited that "man alone of all creatures of the earth can change his own pattern. Man alone is the architect of his destiny. The greatest discovery in our generation is that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives." Bewilderedly, some people cannot live above poverty because they've already resigned to fate believing that they are destined to be poor while they assume that those who are rich were designed and predestined to be rich. More baffling is the notion that they are helpless and cannot do anything to change and improve their circumstances. This set of people who adopts this kind of mindset, attitude and/or approach to life are not always ready to take risk nor make efforts to upturn their circumstance. They are usually, laidback, pessimistic, passive and with grave low self-esteem often characterized with 'battered ego'. Attitude dictates and controls our behavior either consciously or sub-consciously. Whether you are a business person, a teacher, a student, a parent or whatever you are doing; your level of success will increase tremendously if you place high value on good thinking. James Allen maintained that "man is buffeted by circumstances so long as he believe himself to be the creature of outside conditions, but when he realizes he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which circumstances grow, he then becomes the rightful master of himself..". as a man thinks so he is. Your thought empowers you for achievement. Emerson affirmed, "Thought rule the world" you can't gravitate above your thoughts. Your thoughts are propelling forces which create circumstances conducive to their own realization. They are invisible but cannot remain hidden for long because you will eventually act on them. In fact they are irresistible when they call for manifestation. Emmerson further noted that "thoughts converts itself into power." Your life and level of achievement today reflects the kind of thoughts you secretly conceived, harbored, encouraged and projected in the time past. It's impossible for you to manifest contrary to your thoughts. You are exactly a product of your thought. Praise George noted "many people allow their thoughts to be shaped by social consciousness; that is the beliefs held by a particular society. They refuse to question limiting beliefs and move along with the mindless crowd going nowhere" people fail to realize the utmost truth that they themselves are makers of themselves by the virtue of the thought they choose to encourage. In truth, victory and defeat originate from the mind. When all your thoughts are centered on victory in all your challenges, you will always emerge a victor conversely when your thoughts are debasing or centered on negation. "Every thought seed sown or allowed to fall into the mind, and to take root there produces its own, blossoming sooner or later into act, and bearing its own fruitage of opportunity and circumstance" James Allen. Good thoughts bear good fruits, bad thoughts bad fruits. Change your thoughts, alter your attitude & dictate your life outcomes!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Think exercise and diet are the secrets to aging well and having a meaningful life that thrives? Think again. The new science of aging is upending many of the negative stereotypes and dogmatic beliefs about aging. New research is showing that we are not doomed by our genes, and they don't control our biology or determine the person we can be. On the contrary, recent studies reveal that individual lifestyle, environment, attitude, and the friends we interact with play a far greater role than genetics in determining how well we age and who thrives in later life. This new research also confirms the power behind the mind-body-spirit connection and how a balance between the three draws on our deep, inner healing power and optimizes our well-being. Aging Well will help you understand the science behind these new ideas from an emotional, mental, and spiritual perspective. You can also explore how to increase the odds of having a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life in your later years. It's never too late to change. Whether you've hit the "Big Five-O," 60, 70, 80, or beyond, you can make a U-turn in the way you see yourself and change your attitude and approach to aging well. In Aging Well, you will find these key points: • Importance of a positive attitude in redefining and changing your narrative about aging • Effects of an unhealthy lifestyle • Importance of friendship and social interaction • Significance of play and laughter • Value of cultivating meaning and purpose in your life • Significance of caring for your mind • Benefits of creative activity and lifelong learning • Power of belief • Importance of a spiritual connection and aging= Keywords: Aging Well, Rodney A. Book excerpt: For many people, remaining optimistic and feeling positive about themselves and their lives is a constant battle—especially when circumstances are difficult and life is hard. For others, negativity is something that only sneaks up from time to time, yet still wreaks havoc in their hearts. Regardless of the root causes, once pessimistic thoughts permeate our minds, our feelings and emotions begin to control us instead of us controlling them. Eventually it doesn’t seem possible to stay positive, happy, and full of joy, and negative thought patterns shake our faith, causing us to sink emotionally, mentally, and spiritually over time. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Despite what storms roll in, hearts anchored in God don’t sink. When we change the way we think, we can change the way we feel and live, even if our circumstances remain the same. Intentionally embracing the opportunity to experience a transformed heart and a renewed mind opens the door for a changed life, because a positive mind will always lead to a more positive life. In Unsinkable Faith, author and Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker Tracie Miles offers hope for women who struggle with negativity. Each chapter explores Tracie’s and other women’s personal stories, showing how they rose above their circumstances by transforming and renewing their minds. Unsinkable Faith is a breath of fresh air for anyone longing for a heart full of joy, an unbreakable smile, and a new, more optimistic perspective on life. This book will equip you to: Replace pessimism with positive thinking by becoming the captain of your thoughts; Learn how true joy and happiness are based on choice, not circumstances; Overcome unhealthy habits of negative thinking by intentionally implementing three easy mind-renewing steps; Stop feeling hopeless and pitiful, and start feeling hope-filled and powerful instead; and Discover that when you change the way you think, you change the way feel, and in turn you can change your life completely.

Book excerpt: George Orwell set out ‘to make political writing into an art’, and to a wide extent this aim shaped the future of English literature – his descriptions of authoritarian regimes helped to form a new vocabulary that is fundamental to understanding totalitarianism. While 1984 and Animal Farm are amongst the most popular classic novels in the English language, this new series of Orwell’s essays seeks to bring a wider selection of his writing on politics and literature to a new readership. In Why I Write, the first in the Orwell’s Essays series, Orwell describes his journey to becoming a writer, and his movement from writing poems to short stories to the essays, fiction and non-fiction we remember him for. He also discusses what he sees as the ‘four great motives for writing’ – ‘sheer egoism’, ‘aesthetic enthusiasm’, ‘historical impulse’ and ‘political purpose’ – and considers the importance of keeping these in balance. Why I Write is a unique opportunity to look into Orwell’s mind, and it grants the reader an entirely different vantage point from which to consider the rest of the great writer’s oeuvre. 'A writer who can – and must – be rediscovered with every age.' — Irish Times
