Book Synopsis Catalytic Reduction of Carbon Dioxide to Methane and Other Species Via Formamide Intermediation: Synthesis and Hydrogenation of HC(O)NH2 in the Presence of (Ir(Cl)CO)(Ph3P)2). by : L. Vaska
Download or read book Catalytic Reduction of Carbon Dioxide to Methane and Other Species Via Formamide Intermediation: Synthesis and Hydrogenation of HC(O)NH2 in the Presence of (Ir(Cl)CO)(Ph3P)2). written by L. Vaska and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Formamide, HC(O)NH2, is catalytically synthesized from Carbon dioxide, Hydrogen and Ammonia in homogeneous toluene or alcohol solutions mediated by Ir(Cl)(CO)(Ph3P)2. The same iridium compound is used in the catalytic hydrogenation of neat formamide which leads to methane and N-methylformamides. The latter overall reaction is complicated due to the concurrent thermal decomposition of formamide yielding carbon black, NH3, Carbon monoxide, CO2, and water. The various possible steps in this complex catalytic system are briefly examined. Keywords: Trans-chlorocarbonylbis(triphenylphosphine)iridium. (aw).
Book Synopsis Transformation of Carbon Dioxide to Formic Acid and Methanol by : Wan-Hui Wang
Download or read book Transformation of Carbon Dioxide to Formic Acid and Methanol written by Wan-Hui Wang and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-10-26 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This brief explains the principles and fundamentals of carbon dioxide utilization and highlights the transformation to fuels and value-added chemicals such as formic acid and methanol. It is divided into six chapters, including an introduction to the basics of CO2 utilization and transformation of CO2 to formic acid and methanol with homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts, respectively. The brief will appeal to a wide readership of academic and industrial researchers focusing on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, organometallic chemistry, green chemistry, energy conversion and storage.
Book Synopsis Carbon Dioxide Reduction Via Homogeneous Catalytic Synthesis and Hydrogenation of N, N-Dimethylformamide by : Serge Schreiner
Download or read book Carbon Dioxide Reduction Via Homogeneous Catalytic Synthesis and Hydrogenation of N, N-Dimethylformamide written by Serge Schreiner and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The previously reported catalytic reaction between CO2, H2, and (CH3)2NH to yield N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) has been found to produce also trimethylamine (TMA) in the presence of several Ru, Os, Rh, Ir and Pt complexes. In separate experiments, the hydrogenation of DMF, catalyzed by the same or other complexes, also gave TMA. Thus, evidence is presented for the overall catalytic reduction of CO2 the the methyl group ( -CH3, incorporated in TMA). Keywords: Carbon dioxide, Hydrogenation, Homogeneous catalysis, N, N Dimethylformamide, Ethyl radicals.
