Book excerpt: Since the earliest days of British television drama, scriptwriter Nigel Kneale has been a seminal figure. His Quatermass serials for the BBC were a seismic event in the 1950s, before finding international success when adapted by Hammer Films for the big screen. Later TV plays, such as The Road, The Stone Tape and The Year of the Sex Olympics, skilfully blend elements of science fiction and the ghost story. They remain classics and Kneale himself a great influence on popular culture. Revised and updated, this new edition of Into the Unknown charts Nigel Kneale's extraordinary career, from his childhood on the Isle of Man, to his fraught days at the BBC, strange adventures in Hollywood, and his status as legend to legions of fans. It draws on a wealth of research and many hours of interviews with Kneale himself, as well as prominent admirers. These include John Carpenter, Ramsey Campbell, Grant Morrison, Russell T Davies, and Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson of the League of Gentlemen.

Show and Tell reveals the most powerful and needed revelations hidden from the foundation of the World through images-manifestations. The Spirit of the Lord gave many images to clarify the truth of His Holy Scriptures because of His Love for the world. (John 3) These images are neither God nor Yeshua-Jesus only illustrations for revelations- manifestations" God is Spirit, Yeshua is Spirit, the Holy Ghost is Spirit, Satan is a spirit and we are spirits as well housed in humans bodies. Showing how the people of God can progress and pursue Rock- solid faith through believing, receiving, confession and repentance. Let Peter, Stephen, Paul, Job, the man of Ethiopia a eunuch, and most of all, the Messiah be our examples to follow. If the Holy Word teaches it, receive it, and if not then spit it out! Lord Yeshua-Jesus, heard very little about you by my ears, until I search the scriptures and found you for myself, but now my eyes continue to search and see You from (Genesis-Revelation). God spoke and Yeshua-Jesus created, God speaks through Yeshua His Son unto man and he creates. "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness" (Gen. 1:26) Lord, my desires is to be just like You, no man has the power to stop me only me. Satan has the authority to try you, but you have the power and should have the faith to resist.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is algebra? For some, it is an abstract language of x's and y’s. For mathematics majors and professional mathematicians, it is a world of axiomatically defined constructs like groups, rings, and fields. Taming the Unknown considers how these two seemingly different types of algebra evolved and how they relate. Victor Katz and Karen Parshall explore the history of algebra, from its roots in the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, China, and India, through its development in the medieval Islamic world and medieval and early modern Europe, to its modern form in the early twentieth century. Defining algebra originally as a collection of techniques for determining unknowns, the authors trace the development of these techniques from geometric beginnings in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia and classical Greece. They show how similar problems were tackled in Alexandrian Greece, in China, and in India, then look at how medieval Islamic scholars shifted to an algorithmic stage, which was further developed by medieval and early modern European mathematicians. With the introduction of a flexible and operative symbolism in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, algebra entered into a dynamic period characterized by the analytic geometry that could evaluate curves represented by equations in two variables, thereby solving problems in the physics of motion. This new symbolism freed mathematicians to study equations of degrees higher than two and three, ultimately leading to the present abstract era. Taming the Unknown follows algebra’s remarkable growth through different epochs around the globe.

Your next step in coming to the knowledge of God may be in your hands right now! As the apostle Paul said, concerning the quest to know the Unknown God, "Him I preach to you!" Go ahead, scan the main points at the end of each chapter and make your decision to accept the invitation. You will be gently ushered by the Spirit of revelation into the mysteries of the kingdom of God. Pastor Fred Gorini is a loving husband and father, who along with his covenant wife of 33 years, founded a local church in Daytona Beach, Florida, 25 years ago. A strong believer in the local church, Pastor Fred continues to serve at Rock Church of Daytona Beach. The dedicated pastoral staff and elders there are preparing the next generation to walk in uncompromised Biblical truth. Pastor Fred's visionary teachings are seasoned with prophetic insight that has edified the local church in his own community as well as in many relationally networked congregations around the United States of America. His revelation of the Word of God has been tested and proven not only in the United States but also in several nations of South America, Asia, and Africa. Regardless of the many challenges the local church is facing in its desire to manifest the kingdom of God on earth, Pastor Fred insists that the true gospel really is "good news" for "whosoever" will believe.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Franz Schubert (1797-1828) is now rightly recognized as one of the greatest and most original composers of the nineteenth century. His keen understanding of poetry and his uncanny ability to translate his profound understanding of human nature into remarkably balanced compositions marks him out from other contemporaries in the field of song. Schubert was one of the first major composers to devote so much time to song and his awareness that this genre was not rated highly in the musical hierarchy did not deter him, throughout a short but resolute and hard-working career, from producing songs that invariably arrest attention and frequently strike a deeply poetic note. Schubert did not emerge as a composer until after his death, but during his short lifetime his genius flowered prolifically and diversely. His reputation was first established among the aristocracy who took the art music of Vienna into their homes, which became places of refuge from the musical mediocrity of popular performance. More than any other composer, Schubert steadily graced Viennese musical life with his songs, piano music and chamber compositions. Throughout his career he experimented constantly with technique and in his final years began experiments with form. The resultant fascinating works were never performed in his lifetime, and only in recent years have the nature of his experiments found scholarly favor. In The Unknown Schubert contributors explore Schubert's radical modernity from a number of perspectives by examining both popular and neglected works. Chapters by renowned scholars describe the historical context of his work, its relation to the dominant artistic discourses of the early nineteenth century, and Schubert's role in the paradigmatic shift to a new perception of song. This valuable book seeks to bring Franz Schubert to life, exploring his early years as a composer of opera, his later years of ill-health when he composed in the shadow of death, and his efforts to reflect i
