Book excerpt: La thèse porte sur la caractérisation et la modélisation d'un échantillon ferromagnétique doux de Fer-Cobalt sous stimulation mécanique vibratoire. Le banc de caractérisation permet de maîtriser l'amplitude et la fréquence de la sollicitation mécanique au travers d'actionneurs piézoélectriques. Le cycle d'hystérésis magnétique ainsi que l'amplitude des déformations mécaniques sont mesurés simultanément lorsque l'échantillon torique est sollicité en flexion longitudinale. Les résultats expérimentaux montrent une réduction importante de l'hystérésis magnétique statique. Les réductions de coercivité sont corrélées linéairement à l'amplitude des contraintes élastiques exercées sur le tore quelle que soit la fréquence mécanique des vibrations. Ces réductions, observées en présence d'une contrainte externe cyclique, sont associées à des décrochements de parois de Bloch lorsque celles-ci sont piégées par des défauts de contraintes internes. Pour interpréter ces résultats, une modélisation de l'interaction paroi - défaut est proposée à l'aide d'une approche énergétique. Les profils d'interaction énergétique entre paroi et défaut permettent alors d'exprimer la coercivité attribuée aux défauts de contrainte interne en présence d'une contrainte externe d'amplitude et/ou de direction variable(s). Le modèle met en évidence la nécessité d'explorer un grand nombre d'états mécaniques pour chaque valeur de champ magnétique. Les portées applicatives de ces travaux sont proposées à l'issue d'un bilan énergétique effectué sur le système d'excitation magnéto-mécanique. Cette étude ouvre de nouvelles voies pour des dispositifs de récupération d'énergie mécanique vibratoire ainsi que pour des systèmes de désaimantation par activation mécanique.

Nous nous sommes.' principalement intéressés à un alliage ferromagnétique relativement bien connu, le Fe-3,Y70Si à grains non-orientés. L'étude du comportement mécanique en traction uniaxale a révélé l'existence de deux stades d'écrouissage et d'une forte composante cinématique. Cette composante est portée par une contrainte interne à longue distance de nature intergranulaire pour des faibles valeurs de la déformation plastique, puis intragranulaire quand des murs de dislocations apparaissent. Un dispositif permettant d'effectuer des mesures magnétiques in situ lors d'un essai de traction uniaxiale sur des matériaux de type tôles et feuillards magnétiques a été mis au point. Le Bruit Magnétique Barkhausen et des paramètres liés aux cycles d'hystérésis magnétique ont été déterminés sous contrainte dans le domaine élastique et plastique, ainsi qu'à l'état déchargé correspondant. L'effet d'une contrainte superposée à un état de déformation plastique a été aussi étudié. D'une part, les résultats ouvrent des perspectives quant au découplage des effets de l'ancrage des parois magnétiques sur les dislocations et de l' anisotropie magnétoélastique des contraintes internes. D'autre part, il en résulte qu'un choix approprié des paramètres magnétiques à mesurer permet une identification convenable des mécanismes de déformation: le stade de déformation purement élastique, la microplasticité, les deux stades d'écrouissage sont clairement mis en évidence. Les ,hypothèses proposées ont été validées par des caractérisations sur d'autres matériaux ferromagnétiques: un nickel polycristallin de haute pureté et un alliage FeCo-2% V.

Notre étude porte sur la modélisation des effets magnéto-élastiques que subit un cylindre en acier, lorsqu'il est soumis à une pression interne croissante, dans un champ magnétique ambiant faible, de l'ordre de magnitude du champ magnétique terrestre. L'utilisation du modèle de Jiles-Atherton, par son approche globale, est particulièrement adaptée à la modélisation de la loi d'évolution de l'aimantation interne dans le cylindre avec la contrainte mécanique. Ce modèle est donné sous la forme d'une équation différentielle, classiquement résolue par des algorithmes numériques. Dans le cas des coques ferromagnétiques minces, cette équation permet également la description de l'évolution de l'induction magnétique externe avec la contrainte mécanique. Dans un premier temps, nous exhibons une solution analytique exacte à l'équation de Jiles-Atherton, exprimée en termes d'induction externe. Cette solution permet la prédiction de la variation de l'induction magnétique avec la pression. Dans un second temps, l'utilisation d'un algorithme de résolution de problème inverse permet, à partir des mesures d'induction réalisées sur des capteurs magnétiques externes, de calculer la distribution d'aimantation M au sein du cylindre lorsque la pression interne appliquée varie. Une loi analytique vectorielle d'évolution de l'aimantation dans le cylindre avec la pression est alors proposée. Les prédictions issues de ces lois sont comparées aux mesures effectuées sur notre prototype.
