Book Synopsis United States Code by : United States
Download or read book United States Code written by United States and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 1358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The United States Code is the official codification of the general and permanent laws of the United States of America. The Code was first published in 1926, and a new edition of the code has been published every six years since 1934. The 2012 edition of the Code incorporates laws enacted through the One Hundred Twelfth Congress, Second Session, the last of which was signed by the President on January 15, 2013. It does not include laws of the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress, First Session, enacted between January 2, 2013, the date it convened, and January 15, 2013. By statutory authority this edition may be cited "U.S.C. 2012 ed." As adopted in 1926, the Code established prima facie the general and permanent laws of the United States. The underlying statutes reprinted in the Code remained in effect and controlled over the Code in case of any discrepancy. In 1947, Congress began enacting individual titles of the Code into positive law. When a title is enacted into positive law, the underlying statutes are repealed and the title then becomes legal evidence of the law. Currently, 26 of the 51 titles in the Code have been so enacted. These are identified in the table of titles near the beginning of each volume. The Law Revision Counsel of the House of Representatives continues to prepare legislation pursuant to 2 U.S.C. 285b to enact the remainder of the Code, on a title-by-title basis, into positive law. The 2012 edition of the Code was prepared and published under the supervision of Ralph V. Seep, Law Revision Counsel. Grateful acknowledgment is made of the contributions by all who helped in this work, particularly the staffs of the Office of the Law Revision Counsel and the Government Printing Office"--Preface.

Book Synopsis Disruption Recovery in Air Traffic by : Prabhu Manyem
Download or read book Disruption Recovery in Air Traffic written by Prabhu Manyem and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2021-05-06 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Disruptions to commercial airline schedules are frequent and can inflict significant costs. This is the first book to treat the optimisation of disruption management (irregular operations) in air traffic from a common good perspective that addresses the concerns of airlines, airports, air traffic service providers and, most importantly of all, the travelling public. It describes a number of disruption management systems which are already in place at air traffic service (ATC) providers such as Airservices Australia. As such, the book will be of immense value to ATC providers, and will serve as a reference point for planners at airline operations centres who control movements within a 48-hour window. The optimisation techniques described here will also be very useful to academics and postgraduate students in civil aviation and operations research.

Book Synopsis Modern Data Science with R by : Benjamin S. Baumer
Download or read book Modern Data Science with R written by Benjamin S. Baumer and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-04-13 with total page 650 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From a review of the first edition: "Modern Data Science with R... is rich with examples and is guided by a strong narrative voice. What’s more, it presents an organizing framework that makes a convincing argument that data science is a course distinct from applied statistics" (The American Statistician). Modern Data Science with R is a comprehensive data science textbook for undergraduates that incorporates statistical and computational thinking to solve real-world data problems. Rather than focus exclusively on case studies or programming syntax, this book illustrates how statistical programming in the state-of-the-art R/RStudio computing environment can be leveraged to extract meaningful information from a variety of data in the service of addressing compelling questions. The second edition is updated to reflect the growing influence of the tidyverse set of packages. All code in the book has been revised and styled to be more readable and easier to understand. New functionality from packages like sf, purrr, tidymodels, and tidytext is now integrated into the text. All chapters have been revised, and several have been split, re-organized, or re-imagined to meet the shifting landscape of best practice.

Book Synopsis Transport Law on Passenger Rights by : Marko Pavliha
Download or read book Transport Law on Passenger Rights written by Marko Pavliha and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-07-22 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Europe and also the rest of the world has experienced a boom in mobility over the last thirty years. In light of the protection of increasing number of consumers – passengers it is almost logical that during the past few decades, international and European transport law has developed almost to revolutionary extent, especially in the field of private aviation (air) law with the introduction of unlimited liability of carriers for death and injury of passengers and commendable sophisticated rights in case of denied boarding, cancellation of flights and long delays. This book will cast light through a critical prism on the most important characteristics of the international transport law, the EU legislation and jurisprudence regarding passenger rights during the carriage by air, sea, rail and road. One of the ideas which, however, needs further research is that the commendable legal solutions and experience of the EU can serve as an excellent framework for a new holistic international convention on passengers rights in all transport modes.
