Whereas they numbered respectively 652 and 595, without counting enclosures, there are only 518 abstracts for 1732 and this volume is therefore smaller than those of the two previous years. There seems to be no special reason for the diminution, though some part Of it may possibly be attributed to a decline in the number Of David Dunbar's prolix letters.
