Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The global crisis of Privacy in the 21st century also includes discussions about the right to encryption and restrictions on so-called end-to-end encryption. In order to communicate confidentially and secure against eavesdropping, simple and practical encryption is required for everyone. But how can it be available to everyone? The magic of replacing legible characters with other apparently random and therefore illegible characters had been almost religious for centuries: only those initiated into the invention of a secret language could crack the messages. Encryption remained Super Secreto - Top Secret - Streng Geheim! In the age of smartphone and pocket computers, it is now available to everyone: ever more sophisticated math calculates the so-called cipher text with corresponding keys in our messengers. Both keys and encrypted text used to have to be transmitted to the recipient. In today's Epoch of Cryptography, the transmission of the keys is no longer necessary: The risky transport route for the keys can even be omitted! From the fascination of how Cryptography became abstinent in the transmission of keys - what effect it has on the desire of state agencies for secondary keys - and how multiple and exponential encryption makes resistant against the decryption-attempts of super-quantum-computers ... ... tells Theo Tenzer in this exciting political, technical and socially relevant innovation and science portrait on the Third Epoch of Cryptography.

This book was released on 2021-10-21 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2021 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1,0, , language: English, abstract: This thesis is intended to contribute to three goals: analyse Coinbase, derive recommendations for the cryptocurrency exchange’s management, potential investors, and other cryptoeconomy participants, and create a better understanding of the crypto-industry and an enhanced acceptance of cryptocurrencies. For these purposes, Coinbase was used as a single case study and analysed qualitatively and quantitatively. A Five C’s analysis was applied in the qualitative part, complemented by SWOT and PESTLE analyses and Porter’s Five Forces. The quantitative analysis, in turn, consisted of eleven key ratios that were compared to Nasdaq’s and Intercontinental Exchange’s ratios. Coinbase’s Nasdaq listing is a caesura for the cryptoeconomy since it is the first listing of a major cryptocurrency exchange in the USA. Coinbase’s opening share price exceeds the reference price by more than 50%, resulting in Coinbase’s valuation to top the aggregated value of the two well-established, traditional exchanges Intercontinental Exchange and Nasdaq. Given this listing’s significance and size under consideration of Coinbase’s relatively short existence and small revenue size, the question emerges whether the valuation is caused by Coinbase’s business model or the cryptocurrency hype.

Book excerpt: Poetry. "If capitalism is the infection that normalizes and perpetuates all the greed and violence endemic to human creatures (and, of course, it is), in his new book Norman Fischer provides us with a gorgeous inoculation. In a capacious voice that is part every person, part guide and caregiver, part trickster, Fischer leads us through an exhibit of the American psyche at its most beautifully/terribly/complicatedly human. Blake asks us to see a world in a grain of sand; Fischer, in language as precise and relentless as his courage, asks us to expand each nanosecond into an infinity. With tenderness and care, irony and sincerity, Fischer leads us from surprise to surprise through a vastness of recursion, digression, re-vision, doubt, and wisdom. This is an exquisite book from one of the great and lasting gifts of contemporary poetry."--Donna de la Perriere

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To honor FSG's 75th anniversary, here is a unique anthology celebrating the riches and variety of its poetry list—past, present, and future Poetry has been at the heart of Farrar, Straus and Giroux's identity ever since Robert Giroux joined the fledgling company in the mid-1950s, soon bringing T. S. Eliot, John Berryman, Robert Lowell, and Elizabeth Bishop onto the list. These extraordinary poets and their successors have been essential in helping define FSG as a publishing house with a unique place in American letters. The FSG Poetry Anthology includes work by almost all of the more than one hundred twenty-five poets whom FSG has published in its seventy-five-year history. Giroux's first generation was augmented by a group of international figures (and Nobel laureates), including Pablo Neruda, Nelly Sachs, Derek Walcott, Seamus Heaney, and Joseph Brodsky. Over time the list expanded to includes poets as diverse as Yehuda Amichai, John Ashbery, Frank Bidart, Louise Glück, Thom Gunn, Ted Hughes, Yusef Komunyakaa, Mina Loy, Marianne Moore, Paul Muldoon, Les Murray, Grace Paley, Carl Phillips, Gjertrud Schnackenberg, James Schuyler, C. K. Williams, Charles Wright, James Wright, and Adam Zagajewski. Today, Henri Cole, francine j. harris, Ishion Hutchinson, Maureen N. McLane, Ange Mlinko, Valzhyna Mort, Rowan Ricardo Phillips, and Frederick Seidel are among the poets who are continuing FSG's tradition as a discoverer and promoter of the most vital and distinguished contemporary voices. This anthology is a wide-ranging showcase of some of the best poems published in America over the past three generations. It is also a sounding of poetry's present and future.
