Each word in these series of books represents hard work and time and dedication and care for human health. These series are not just written down but are worked down. Science life is not always smooth and sometimes is extremely difficult. Science is endless. Only those who are not afraid of failure or risk can reach the summit of the mountain. In medical history the Greek physician Hippocrates (460–370 BC), who is considered the Father of Medicine, was credited to the origin of the name cancer. He used the terms carcinos and carcinoma to recount non-ulcer-forming and ulcer-forming tumors. In Greek, these words refer to a crab because the finger-like spreading projections from cancer were similar to the shape of a crab. In his books, there are some records that also were written down: “Everyone has a physician inside him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well. Let our food as our medicine, and let medicine be our food.”

Book excerpt: In this book Dr. Xu Ze wrote down how to prevent cancer and try to stop cancer at the source and strive to eliminate security risks of cancer in the bud in detail. All of his wisdom comes from his hard work and years practices. Cancer prevention is the same important as the cancer treatment. Cancer prevention and treatment should be conducted at the same time and at the same level. It is very important for us to be aware of the cancer prevention. Once again the tears are full of both of my eyes , it is hard work all of day and night for all of our projects. The journey of getting all of these results is not always smooth and Science is endless. With the science and technology development, cancer is gradually understood in depth. Many research data proved that more than 90% of cancer can be prevented. In this book, Dr. Xu Ze wrote down the plans of how to prevent cancer occurrence before cancer happen and how to prevent cancer from the daily life in detail. In China, there are many of the wisdom words such as: the topmost doctor manages the country; the middle level doctor prevents the disease or treats the diseases before it happens; the lowest doctor treats the diseases. Prevention of cancer is very important. The essence is to implement and carry out the health work policy of “cancer prevention and anti-cancer” and “prevention-oriented”. Our medical predecessors and the world’s medical sages put forward “cancer prevention and anti-cancer” and “prevention-oriented”. This policy is very correct. Let work hard together to conquer cancer and do the good things for our human being.

The overall design and the planning and the blueprint of XZ-C’s plans of conquering cancer are the scientific thinking and the theoretical innovation, and the experimental basis of conquering cancer are the reform and development of the overall strategy of cancer treatment. It is the crystallization of my sixty years of experience in medical work and thirty years of scientific research results and achievement, scientific and technological innovation, scientific thinking, and scientific research wisdom. The direction of the research is to conquer cancer. It is proposed that a test area will be set up in Wuhan City, Huang Jiahu University City, and the implementation of this research program will be done by my research team of experts, professors, and so on. The scientific research plan of conquering cancer puts the focus on scientific research in the international front, and it is the forefront of science. In January 12, 2016, the US president Barack Obama, in his State of the Union address, addressed the national cancer program “to conquer cancer” and named the new moon plan (Cancer Moonshot). The vice president, Joe Biden, was responsible for the implementation. Its specific plan is unknown. Cancer is a disaster of mankind. We struggle with cancer all over the world, and people of the world struggle together, gather wisdom, and move forward together to overcome cancer. The cancer disaster covers the world. People worldwide are eager to overcome cancer one day. It is the urgent hope that the states, the governments, the experts, the scholars, and the scientists can find anticancer measures to keep people safe from cancer.

Book excerpt: Science is endless and the road on science or our research life is not always smooth and only those who are not afraid of failure, or hard work, or difficulties can reach the summit of the life or science mountain. The surgeon and professor Dr. Xu Ze in China is an example for us to learn on searching the oncology treatment and the new medications, who put hours and hours time in the operating rooms and in the animal rooms to search for the answer: understanding what Cancer is ? how can cancer be treated and be cured? How to help the cancer patients to live longer and to get the treatment and to get rid of all of the fear? how can we improve cancer care? How can cancer be prevented? Challenging scientific thinking and unbeatable surgical skills and unlimited dedication to the patients lead to all of these innovation discoveries on cancer medications and the new concepts of cancer and the new methods on the cancer treatment. Excellent surgery skills were very important to finish all of these difficult experiments. An excellent surgeon should be like an excellent human tailor who can make a healthy and beautiful human body. A lot of experiments and a lot of failure and tons of hours were put inside. In summary, it is the dedication to the human being health and devotion to oncology medicine and all of other medicine. Whenever each of these series of book is done and is published, my tear cannot help full of both of my eyes because each of word plumps our hard work and hours and day and night. In this volume it is described that all of detail experimental and clinical verification of how Dr. Xu Ze get all of these new treatments and new medications. This volume is mainly discussing pharmacology and immune pharmacology about Xu Ze’s new discovery and new medications by immune control and regulation. Each word in this book comes from our hard work. In our practice the questions are found , then we come back to do the experiments to solve all of these questions; then come back to apply to our clinical practice to improve our patient care.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is little prospect of an immediate cure for cancer. The seeds of destruction seem to be sown within all of us, and there is no consensus about how these seeds develop into tumors or about what can be done to halt that development. Indeed, it is often difficult to find a consensus about any aspect of cancer research. The sharply conflicting views of investigators in different subdisciplines has been most aptly summarized by Charles Heidelberger of the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, who argues that "the mechanism of cancer is a mirror into which each man looks and sees himself. " This is true despite the fact that large infusions of money and manpower now come to the aid of cancer research. In late 1974, Betty Ford and Margaretta (Happy) Rockefeller underwent surgery for breast cancer. The extensive publicity surrounding these mastectomies provoked a great deal of interest in the subject of cancer, particularly breast cancer. Newspaper and television stories associated with the operations gave their audiences some insight into the nature of cancer and cancer research, but they provided only a glimpse of the sweeping changes that the directions of cancer research have under gone in the last few years. In large part, these changes simply reflect the natural progression of research, but there is little question that that progression was sharply accelerated by the National Cancer Act of 1971, which initiated what politicians then termed a "crusade against cancer.

In addition, scientists in several other disciplines have made significant contributions in elucidating the pleiotropic effects of tumor promotion. This international symposium was specifically convened to review research progress in these areas and to consider the relevance of these findings to human cancer causation and prevention. The proceedings include the contributions of leading researchers from Europe, Japan and the USA. Several papers report the exciting progress made in understanding how tumor promoters act at the cellular and biochemical levels. Elsewhere attention is focused on tumor promotion as an important phase in the occurrence of certain human tumors. It is hoped that advances in the understanding of the mechanism of tumor promotion in experimental systems will lead to new and effective approaches to human cancer prevention. The proceedings will be of interest and value to researchers working in cancer research, biochemistry, molecular genetics, mutagenesis and cell biology.

Book excerpt: After reviewing the history of cancer and its impact on the population, Dr. Faguet exposes the antiquated notions that have driven cancer drug development, documents the stagnation in treatment outcomes despite major advances in cancer genomics and growing NCI budgets, and identifies the multiple factors that sustain the status quo. He shows that, contrary to frequent announcements of breakthroughs, our current cancer control model cannot eradicate most cancers and the reasons why. Significantly, this book also delineates a way forward via a shift from the discredited cell-kill approach of the past to an integrated, evidence-driven cancer control paradigm based on prevention, early diagnosis, and pharmacogenomics. The author's views are based on data published in mainstream scientific journals and other reliable references, 432 of which are cited.

Book excerpt: Being a complex disease that affects millions of people world over, cancer research has assumed great significance. Translational cancer research transforms scientific discoveries in the laboratory or population studies into clinical application to reduce incidence of cancer , morbidity and mortality. It is becoming increasingly evident that cancer is a preventable disease. The IVth International Symposium on Translational Cancer Research held in Udaipur, India in December 2011, discussed various aspects of the biological processes in cancer cells and approaches to cancer prevention. A few contributions from this meeting are presented in this book, providing an in depth analysis of data on cancer prevention and therapeutics. These contributions are either critical reviews or research reports. The topics discussed include evidence-based nutritional recommendations for cancer patients and survivors, risk factors such as stress, enrichment of tumour stem cells by anticancer drug treatment contributing to tumour recurrence and the mechanism of anticancer effects of various natural products. Chemosensitizing effect of curcumin, anti-cancer effect of products from neem, action of sulforaphane and cytotoxic effect of a number of novel synthetic coordination complexes of trace metals have been discussed. Novel molecular targets of angiogenesis and molecular basis of the gender bias to thyroid cancer have also been discussed . This book provides useful information on translational cancer research to clinicians and biomedical scientists.
