But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor. She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur... Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered--something no self-respecting wolf can accept... But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.

Book excerpt: “Made my Bachelor-loving heart very happy.” —Rachel Lynn Solomon, author of Today Tonight Tomorrow The Bachelor meets Gilmore Girls in this laugh-out-loud young adult romance about a girl who joins her mother on a reality dating show for single parents—only to fall for a contestant’s son. Cara Hawn’s life fell apart after her father cheated on her mother and got remarried to a woman Cara can’t stand. When Cara accidentally posts a rant about her father online, it goes viral—and catches the attention of the TV producers behind a new reality dating show for single parent families. The next thing Cara and her mother know, they’ve been cast as leads on the show and are whisked away to sunny Key West where they’re asked to narrow a field of suitors and their kids down to one winning pair. All of this is outside of Cara’s comfort zone, from the meddling producers to the camera-hungry contestants, especially as Cara and her mother begin to clash on which suitors are worth keeping around. And then comes Connor. As the son of a contestant, Connor is decidedly off-limits. Except that he doesn’t fit in with the cutthroat atmosphere in all the same ways as Cara, and she can’t get him out of her head. Now Cara must juggle her growing feelings while dodging the cameras and helping her mom pick a bachelor they both love, or else risk fracturing their family even more for the sake of ratings. Maybe there’s a reason most people don’t date on TV.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The link between weddings and death—as found in dramas ranging from Romeo and Juliet to Lorca's Blood Wedding—plays a central role in the action of many Greek tragedies. Female characters such as Kassandra, Antigone, and Helen enact and refer to significant parts of wedding and funeral rites, but often in a twisted fashion. Over time the pressure of dramatic events causes the distinctions between weddings and funerals to disappear. In this book, Rush Rehm considers how and why the conflation of the two ceremonies comes to theatrical life in the tragedies of Aeschylus, Sophokles, and Euripides. By focusing on the dramatization of important rituals conducted by women in ancient Athenian society, Rehm offers a new perspective on Greek tragedy and the challenges it posed for its audience. The conflation of weddings and funerals, the author argues, unleashes a kind of dramatic alchemy whereby female characters become the bearers of new possibilities. Such as formulation enables the tragedians to explore the limitations of traditional thinking and acting in fifth-century Athens. Rehm finds that when tragic weddings and funerals become confused and perverted, the aftershocks disturb the political and ideological givens of Athenian society, challenging the audience to consider new, and often radically different, directions for their city. Rush Rehm is Assistant Professor of Drama and Classics at Standford University and a free-lance theater director. He is the author of Greek Tragic Theatre (Routledge) and Aeschylus' Oresteia: A Theatre Vision (Hawthorn). Originally published in 1994. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. Book excerpt: Can she find refuge in the arms of a killer cyborg? Bio-engineered to be an assassin, cyborg Jason Steel is targeted for destruction after he runs afoul of his creators. He escapes, and, passing himself off as human, seeks asylum on planet Refuge. Since couples are given priority, he applies for a wife through the Cosmic Mates interplanetary matchmaking program. He loathes shackling himself to a wife just as he can taste freedom, so he intends to jettison the ball and chain as soon as he fulfills the contract requirements. Honoria Foster is on the run from a hit man. After overhearing her boss plotting a murder, she testifies against him in court. But he’s acquitted, and now she’s in the crosshairs. In desperation, she submits an application to Cosmic Mates as a way to get off Earth. To her immense relief, she gets a match. Her new husband isn’t the alien she expected, but a human—a cold, rude, rather scary man. But she finds solace in the fact that she’ll be safe at Haven Ranch on planet Refuge. Mutual dislike puts their marriage on a rocky footing, but, as they’re forced to cooperate with one another to adapt to a new life on a strange planet, friendship and mutual respect begin to grow, and amity soon blooms into attraction, passion, and love. But Steel’s secret past remains a threat to their sanctuary and their marriage. Will Honoria still love him when she finds out the man she married is a cold-blooded killing machine? * * * * The Cosmic Mates sci-fi romances are being released in “duets,” a two-book series within a series. Books one and two are a set, books three and four are a different set, etc. Kiss of Steel (Cosmic Mates 3) is the start of a brand-new mini-series. All the Cosmic Mates sci-fi romances can be read as standalones. Escape Clause, book 1, and Help Wanted: Wife, book 2, will be published on Google in October and November, respectively.
