Book excerpt: Here is a modern, dramatic, re-telling of historical facts secretly related to the 2012 Presidential campaign. These facts uncover a sinister pattern of deception utilized by Mormon leaders since their religion's beginnings in America of the 1830's. This portrait, paints such a contradictory personal character to the one portrayed by the Romney campaign, that people will be shocked to find out just how deep Romney's roots are buried in the Mormon aristocracy. The controversy is placed on the notion that Mormon leaders have secretly planned a take-over of the United States government based on a prediction by their leader Joseph Smith in the 1840's, known as the White Horse Prophecy. Blood Oaths... explores the basis of this belief and traces the tactics of the Mormon Church leader's efforts to cover it up. Throughout the book, numerous articles and opinions which criticize the Mormon hierarchy are sited, including Park Romney, cousin to Mitt Romney. These sources have been scrutinized and re-confirmed by our organization, the Nathaniel Rigdon Society, for this research. Our group of concerned voters, joined together to research this project while observing the 2012 primary debates. At first, what started as cursory inquiries into Mitt Romney's statement "...I will not distance myself from my faith and the faith of my fathers," quickly turned into a discussion about the history of Mormonism's founders. One fact after another reconfirmed the notion stated by Park Romney that, "...Mormon Church leaders, knowingly and willfully misrepresent the historical truth of their origins and of the church, for the purpose of deceiving their members into a state of mind that renders them exploitable." Readers will be given insightful knowledge about some of the controversy surrounding Mormons most celebrated leaders, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young as well as a lesser known prophet who helped create the LDS traditions, Parley Pratt, fore-father to Mitt Romney. This is done thru highlighting various news articles, eyewitness testimony and books, both current and historical, to develop a modern-day character portrait of Willard Mitt Romney, who the book reveals, gets his name from a man in the room at the time of Joseph Smith's murder in a Carthage, Illinois jail. The audience of modern-day soap operas and dysfunctional family, reality shows, will find this drama-filled history, extremely captivating. An advance promotion quotes, "Destroying angels, secret rituals, massacres, blood oaths passed down through generations and a plot for one world theocracy...sounds like an historical-fictional Dan Brown novel. But what if it was all true and the 2012 election was the key to the fulfillment of a prophecy?" mittromneybloodoath.comhttp://mittromneybloodoath.com

Book excerpt: The most solemn, majestic, and beautiful gifts that Jesus Christ gave to the world are His sacraments. He endowed them with unprecedented and unparalleled power—power to change lives, save souls, and share God’s very life. The sacraments are the ordinary means by which God directs the course of each human life and all of world history. The Church celebrates seven sacraments: baptism, Eucharist, confirmation, matrimony, holy orders, confession, and anointing of the sick. Each was established by Jesus for the sake of salvation. When Jesus spoke of the sacraments, He made clear that they were essential: Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God (Jn 3:5) . . . unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blood, you have no life in you (Jn 6: 53). In Swear to God, Dr. Scott Hahn explores the richness of Christ’s sacraments—their doctrine, history, symbols, and rituals. Drawing upon the Bible and the Church’s tradition, he shows how God’s covenants—with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David—became the driving forces in history. When Jesus came to fulfill all these covenants, He established a new covenant, with greater power than ever before. Christians are God’s children now. Joined to Christ by baptism, we can already share in the eternal life of the Trinity, a life we hope to know fully in heaven. But heaven is with us, even now, in the sacraments.

The author, David Hay Fleming, delivered an accurate report on The National Covenant (1638) and the Solemn League and Covenant (1643), the defining agreements of two different phases of the mid‐17th‐century Covenanting Revolution. The National Covenant was signed by the people of Scotland in 1638, resisting the suggested reforms of the Church of Scotland by King Charles I. On the other hand the Solemn League and Covenant was an agreement between the Scottish Covenanters and the heads of the English Parliamentarians in 1643 during the First English Civil War. Fleming included the names of the famous personalities linked with the events and the several places and dates of their occurrence. In addition, he wrote several unknown facts about the subject that keep the readers curious throughout. It's a perfect read for history beginners and enthusiasts.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains two very different narratives: a work of literary imagination on early Hungarian history, and an eye-witness account of the Mongol invasion of 1241/42. An anonymous notary of King Bela of Hungary (probably Bela III, d. 1196), also Known as P dictus magister, wrote a Latin Gesta Hungarorum, (ca 1200/10), and enigmatic and much disputed work on the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin in the late ninth century, including a mythical origo gentis, and a history of the Magyars prior to the foundation of the kingdom in 1000 A.D. Additionally, he wove into it stories of heroic ancestors of the great men of his time. Anonymus (as he is commonly referred to) tried to (re)contruct the events and protagonists---including ethnic groups---of several centuries before from the names of places, rivers, and mountains of his time, assuming that these retained the memory of times past. Based on these, he presented a narrative in the style of the popular romances of the siege of Troy and the exploits of Alexander the Great, also utilizing some oral traditions and earlier chronicles. One of his major "inventions" was the inclusion of Attila the Hun into the Hungarian royal genealogy, a feature later developed into the myth of Hun-Hungarian continuity (by Simon of Keza and other chroniclers). Already translated into most Central-European languages, it is here for the first time presented in an updated Latin text with an annotated English translation. The Italian Master Roger (born around the time the retired notary was writing his Gesta) was canon of the cathedral of Varad/Oradea when the Mongols attacked Hungary. He recorded in great detail and vivid prose his experiences, including his hiding from and falling into the hands of the "Tatars". This he prefaced by an astute observation of political conflicts in mid-thirteenth-century Hungary. His description of the events, together with those of Archdeacon Thomas of Split (CEMT 4), is the basic evidence for the horrible devastation of the country by Batu Khan's armies. The present translation is based on the editio princeps of 1488, as no manuscript has survived.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Psychologists have long known that every person has two great longings and inward needs. The first is to be loved, and the second is to love. But when pressures and heartaches come into our lives, many give up any hope of ever finding love. The tragedy is that we often look in the wrong places to fill this deep need and longing. Some substitute lust for love. Others pursue material things or superficial relationships--all in the futile attempt to fill a God-shaped vacuum in the human heart. But there is good news! There is a love worth finding and a love worth sharing. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). On the cross of Christ, God's mighty love was revealed and offered unconditionally to all who would be saved. Do you long to know this mighty love? Then I need to ask you the most important question you'll ever be asked: Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves you, that your sins are forgiven, and that you are saved and on your way to heaven? The great news is, you can know! Let me share with you how to discover the greatest love worth finding. Admit Your Sin. First, you must admit that you are a sinner. The Bible says, "None is righteous, no, not one. . . . For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:10, 23). It is our sin that separates us from God and from fulfilling our deepest needs and longings. Sin is an offense against God that carries a serious penalty. According to Romans 6:23, "The wages of sin is death [eternal separation from the love and mercy of God]." Abandon Your Efforts. Second, you must abandon any efforts to save yourself. If we could save ourselves, Jesus's death would have been unnecessary! Even "getting religion" cannot get you to heaven. The Bible says it is "not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his mercy" that we are saved (Titus 3:5). Salvation is by God's grace, "not a result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Acknowledge Christ's Payment. What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! "But God shows his love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). He died on the cross for you and then rose from the dead to prove that his payment was acceptable to God. But you must acknowledge and believe this fact. "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" (Acts 16:31). Accept Christ as your Savior. Salvation is God's gift to you. "The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). When someone offers you a priceless gift, the wisest thing you can do is accept it! This very moment, you can receive Christ's gift of salvation by sincerely praying this simple prayer from your heart: Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that you love me and want to save me. Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe God raised you from the dead. I now turn from my sin and, by faith, receive you as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus. In your name I pray. Amen.

This book was released on 2024-04-18 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christianity among the African people, whether on the soil of Africa or in diaspora, is perceived and defined differently by different people. For instance, among African traditional religious people and Muslims, Christianity is a foreign religion that must not be allowed to thrive in Africa. To several Africans who profess Jesus, Christianity is good, but it is not adequate and effective enough to handle all human needs. Still, among some Western Christians and missionaries, African Christianity is superficial and lacks total commitment to Christ. Of course, the Africans are a cultural people with profound religious inclinations. Their traditional religion (ATR) has tremendously shaped their worldviews and socioeconomic and political activities. Consequently, when traditional Africans are converted to Christianity, they do not break ties with their traditional religions completely. The examination of relevant biblical texts on syncretism, however, reveals that God condemns the worship of many gods and places a curse on anyone who offers sacrifices to carved images and bows to them in worship. Therefore, this work investigates the root cause of religious syncretism among African people. In the attempt to find answers to why the average African Christian finds it difficult, if not impossible, to abandon his/her traditional religious belief systems completely to embrace Christianity, the author concludes that unless the issues surrounding the African forgotten and secret covenants are exposed and decisively addressed in the light of biblical teaching, syncretism will continue to be a stigma on the fabric of African Christianity. Therefore, to overcome the threats of syncretism in African Christianity, there is a need to establish a sound theological and missiological framework that can address the problems associated with the African worldviews and belief systems. This task must be carried out under the searchlight of Scriptures.
