Dafür sollen Kennzahlen beschrieben, ermittelt und interpretiert werden, mit denen eine Bewertung eines Unternehmens in Bezug auf den Bereich der Investition erfolgt. Abgesehen davon soll ein zusätzliches Verständnis geschaffen werden, wie ebenfalls mit Hilfe eines Simulationsplanspiels, ein Gefühl für die Bilanzanalyse und der unternehmerischen Entscheidungsfindung hinsichtlich wirtschaftlicher und finanzieller Kennahlen von Vorteil sein kann. Somit stellen sich zwei zentrale Fragen: Ist eine Bewertung des Investitionsbereichs der Unternehmung mit Hilfe von ausgewählten Kennzahlen sinnvoll? Und: Wie können diese Kennzahlen sinnvoll interpretiert werden? In Märkten von hoher unternehmerischer Konkurrenz, ist es aus Sicht eines Investors oder eines Kapitalgebers unabdingbar, vor einer potenziellen Investition in ein Unternehmen, die wesentlichen Kennzahlen von diesem mit Hilfe der Rechenschaftslegung des Jahresabschlusses präzise im Vorfeld zu studieren. Bei diesem Entscheidungsprozess werden wirtschaftliche und finanzielle Entscheidungen von Seiten der Unternehmung durch Anwendung einer Bilanzanalyse vom Kapitalgeber geprüft und Prognosen abgeleitet. Die Bewertung kann ebenfalls nach Analysebereich innerhalb des Jahresabschlusses erfolgen, um so präferierte Methoden des Kapitalgebers zur letztendlichen Unternehmensbewertung zu verdeutlichen. Um eine solche Methodik aufzuzeigen, wird im Rahmen dieser Arbeit mit Hilfe durch Software, ein Unternehmen innerhalb eines Planspiels unter nahezu realen Bedingungen simuliert, um das Thema der Kennzahlenanalyse des Investitionsbereichs einer Unternehmung zu untersuchen.
