Book excerpt: “I stared down at the lifeless body of a boy whose face was all too familiar…” Following the execution of Lukas Morris, Preternatural Private Investigator Kassandra Lyall told herself that she’d learn more about the local werewolf pack’s Alpha female. Just as she begins her investigation, she’s interrupted by a phone call from friend and ex-colleague, Detective Arthur Kingfisher. The body of a sixteen-year-old boy has been found. It’s not just any sixteen-year-old boy, it’s Timothy Nelson, a boy Kassandra knew was curious about the preternatural. Kassandra soon realizes that Timothy’s death serves as a challenge, but it’s not a challenge directed at her. It’s aimed at her lover, the Countess vampire of Oklahoma, Lenorre. While Kassandra tries to figure out if Timothy’s curiosity was his undoing, the biggest question of all remains unanswered. Is Timothy Nelson dead or undead? The Second Book in the Kassandra Lyall Preternatural Investigator Series.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Masque of the Red Death", originally published as "The Mask of the Red Death: A Fantasy", is an 1842 short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe. The story follows Prince Prospero's attempts to avoid a dangerous plague, known as the Red Death, by hiding in his abbey. He, along with many other wealthy nobles, hosts a masquerade ballwithin seven rooms of the abbey, each decorated with a different color. In the midst of their revelry, a mysterious figure disguised as a Red Death victim enters and makes his way through each of the rooms. Prospero dies after confronting this stranger, whose "costume" proves to contain nothing tangible inside it; the guests also die in turn. Poe's story follows many traditions of Gothic fiction and is often analyzed as an allegory about the inevitability of death, though some critics advise against an allegorical reading. Many different interpretations have been presented, as well as attempts to identify the true nature of the titular disease. The story was first published in May 1842 in Graham's Magazineand has since been adapted in many different forms, including a 1964 film starring Vincent Price.

One person was a teenager of 19 years named Raven who was a writer of poetry and homeless, downcast, and living on the streets of Louisiana. The second person was a woman of much greater years named Sunday who saw great potential in the Raven and wanted to help him. Then, there was the third person in this trinity who was a Ghost of ancient age who drew both of these persons together to accomplish this work of poetry. Demons, strait jackets and voices in his head had him on the run. He masked his incredible growing pains and his unparalleled love for a girl in his poetry. Vulgarities run amuck in a bit of the poetry, but the woman named Sunday chose to let them remain. Raven's rendition of his pain is told in one of the poems titled ... ... ... THE MASK: Condemned to violence, Arrested by pain Inside this soul lies a man insane. Conceived to anger addicted to hate A mutant child with a twisted fate. A killer's smile with a psycho star dream Behind the mask things aren't what they seem. Unholy soldier - Disciple of sin That's the kind of life I'm living in. This is a book that you can not put down. You have to read the whole input of this teenager. It is that intriguing, and that entertaining. By the time you finish reading this book, hopefully, you will find yourself in love with this teenage young man but more importantly that you find and fall in love with his 'friendly' Ghost.

Book excerpt: From ancient lore, down millenniums, traveling through worldwide mythologies, legends, and folktales, the mythical raven is entwined in the history of mankind. Most researchers agree that about twenty thousand years ago the first Americans came from Siberia across the Bering Land Bridge to what is now North America. The Siberians and their shamans were accompanied by the mythical raven who mediated between the physical and spiritual worlds. With the Siberian influence, Northwest Native American mythology speaks of the raven as creator, destroyer, and trickster. As in Siberia, raven soars on the wind between the great spirit/mystery and the physical world. Raven teaches respect for earth and the oneness of all that is. In RavenWind, author Hartzell Cobbs offers at look at the raven's role in world history and in Native American myths, legends, and folktales. He tells how the raven of folklore calls one to follow, to listen, and experience life with all its complexity, insight, ambiguity, contraction, and humor. With an emphasis on Native American tradition, Cobbs explores the presence of mythical raven in the mundane.
