Download or read book New Developments in Hazardous Materials Research written by Ottis E. Bronze and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2006 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hazardous waste is a waste with properties that make it dangerous or potentially harmful to human health or the environment. Hazardous waste generally exhibits one or more of these characteristics: ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity or toxicity. The universe of hazardous wastes is large and diverse. Hazardous wastes can be liquids, solids, contained gases, or sludges. They can be the by-products of manufacturing processes or simply discarded commercial products, like cleaning fluids or pesticides. One major type is radioactive waste. This new book brings together the latest research in this diverse field.

Book Synopsis Nazi Propaganda for the Arab World by : Jeffrey Herf
Download or read book Nazi Propaganda for the Arab World written by Jeffrey Herf and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 2009-11-30 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jeffrey Herf, a leading scholar in the field, offers the most extensive examination to date of Nazi propaganda activities targeting Arabs and Muslims in the Middle East during World War II and the Holocaust. He draws extensively on previously unused and little-known archival resources, including the shocking transcriptions of the “Axis Broadcasts in Arabic” radio programs, which convey a strongly anti-Semitic message. Herf explores the intellectual, political, and cultural context in which German and European radical anti-Semitism was found to resonate with similar views rooted in a selective appropriation of the traditions of Islam. Pro-Nazi Arab exiles in wartime Berlin, including Haj el-Husseini and Rashid el-Kilani, collaborated with the Nazis in constructing their Middle East propaganda campaign. By integrating the political and military history of the war in the Middle East with the intellectual and cultural dimensions of the propagandistic diffusion of Nazi ideology, Herf offers the most thorough examination to date of this important chapter in the history of World War II. Importantly, he also shows how the anti-Semitism promoted by the Nazi propaganda effort contributed to the anti-Semitism exhibited by adherents of radical forms of Islam in the Middle East today.
Book Synopsis Shaping Church Law Around the Year 1000 by : Greta Austin
Download or read book Shaping Church Law Around the Year 1000 written by Greta Austin and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2009 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Drawing upon new manuscript discoveries, the author shows how Burchard tried to create a new text that would address these problems. He carefully selected and compiled canons from earlier collections and then went on to tamper systematically with the texts he had chosen. By doing so, he created a book of church law that appeared to be based on indisputable authority, that was internally consistent and that was easy to apply through logical extrapolation to new cases. The present study thus provides a window into the development of legal and theological reasoning in the medieval West, and suggests that, thanks to the work of ambitious bishops, the flowering of law and theology began far earlier, and for different reasons, than scholars have heretofore supposed."--BOOK JACKET.

Book Synopsis Novel decision-making method based on bipolar neutrosophic information by : Jianming Zhan
Download or read book Novel decision-making method based on bipolar neutrosophic information written by Jianming Zhan and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 25 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1998, Smarandache originally considered the concept of neutrosophic set from philosophical point of view. The notion of a single-valued neutrosophic set is a subclass of the neutrosophic set from a scientific and engineering point of view and an extension of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. A bipolar single-valued neutrosophic set is an extension of a bipolar fuzzy set, which provides us an additional possibility to represent uncertainty, imprecise, incomplete and inconsistent information existing in real situations. In this research article, we apply the concept of bipolar single-valued neutrosophic sets to graph structures and present a novel framework for handling bipolar neutrosophic information by combining bipolar neutrosophic sets with graph structures. Several basic notions concerning bipolar single-valued neutrosophic graph structures are introduced, and some related properties are investigated. We also consider the applications of bipolar single-valued neutrosophic graph structures in decision making. In particular, efficient algorithms are developed to solve decision-making problems regarding recognition of each country’s participation in its conspicuous relationships, detection of psychological improvement of patients in a mental hospital and uncovering the undercover reasons for global terrorism.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A modern and accessible guide to the analysis of introductory time series data Featuring an organized and self-contained guide, Time Series Analysis provides a broad introduction to the most fundamental methodologies and techniques of time series analysis. The book focuses on the treatment of univariate time series by illustrating a number of well-known models such as ARMA and ARIMA. Providing contemporary coverage, the book features several useful and newlydeveloped techniques such as weak and strong dependence, Bayesian methods, non-Gaussian data, local stationarity, missing values and outliers, and threshold models. Time Series Analysis includes practical applications of time series methods throughout, as well as: Real-world examples and exercise sets that allow readers to practice the presented methods and techniques Numerous detailed analyses of computational aspects related to the implementation of methodologies including algorithm efficiency, arithmetic complexity, and process time End-of-chapter proposed problems and bibliographical notes to deepen readers’ knowledge of the presented material Appendices that contain details on fundamental concepts and select solutions of the problems implemented throughout A companion website with additional data fi les and computer codes Time Series Analysis is an excellent textbook for undergraduate and beginning graduate-level courses in time series as well as a supplement for students in advanced statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, engineering, and physics. The book is also a useful reference for researchers and practitioners in time series analysis, econometrics, and finance. Wilfredo Palma, PhD, is Professor of Statistics in the Department of Statistics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has published several refereed articles and has received over a dozen academic honors and awards. His research interests include time series analysis, prediction theory, state space systems, linear models, and econometrics.
