Hedging his bets Ben called in an old friend, Bat Masterson, to free his brother from the clutches of what was reputed to be the crooked law of Ogallala. What followed was a dramatic (and often comical) rescue by Masterson and with the help of Buffalo Bill Cody the pair safely made it back to Kansas. One of the great true stories of the Old West as told by G.R. Williamson, a historical writer living in Kerrville, Texas. He is the author of The Texas Pistoleers (2011) and Frontier Gambling (2012).
