Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Five Hebrew matriarchs journey away from barrenness, shame, and disgrace, finally coming to fruitfulness. Through God's grace, barren wives conceive and birth sons. In Abraham's family, three generation of matriarchs are barren, and the seed is seemingly in danger of not being multiplied. The author shares the story of her season of spiritual barrenness and shows the connection between physical and spiritual barrenness, as well as the principles of fruitfulness that she learned. A monograph of a biblical character precedes each chapter to further the journey theme, and reflection questions follow each chapter to present opportunities for individual insight. For small group study, a Journey study guide provides a format for weekly or monthly sessions.

Book excerpt: Turning Points in Ministry: Thinking Aloud is a compilation of Dr. Hudson’s sermons written between 1995-2015, focusing on the different seasons of ministry from the early years to the challenges of interim ministry to the barren seasons of ministry. These sermons represent both the challenges and the victories of the minister’s different seasons of waiting for change and listening for God. Through the barren seasons, she learns that there is a purpose for barrenness. She also learns during the barren seasons (waiting and listening for God) that He develops our spiritual gifts and prepares us for far greater opportunities for service in ministry at the next turning points.

Come walk with Hannah through eight test of faith that many believers grow through in their journey to true spiritual fruitfulness.

Hemchand Gossai not just discussed the large variety of themes within this texts, but also kept an eye on the implications for the Church and contemporary readers. The richness and texture of these metaphors allow the reader to embrace these stories in a way that makes them our stories.

Book excerpt: GROUP PARTICIPANT WORKBOOK - Imagine waking up every single day convinced that the twenty-four hours ahead of you are a precious gift to be used wisely. Now imagine that you know exactly how to spend them to be a force for God’s good. All too often we wander through life without appreciating the gift of every moment we’ve been given. The result? An unsatisfying life, missed opportunities to experience the joy of being in sync with God, and days marked with apathy instead of passion. Our time on earth is measured. We should want to make every moment count—not only because we aren’t guaranteed the next one, but also because this is exactly how our Savior spent His time here. How, then, do we walk out unwavering joy-filled faith every day, determined to let go of the things that keep us from experiencing abundant life and fulfilling the plans God has for us? The answers are found in following the footsteps of the One who lived fully, because He was determined that we might do the same. In this six-week study of Luke, we will follow the life and ministry of Jesus as we consider the choices He made on His way to the cross. We’ll intimately connect with a Savior who remained laser-focused on His mission to love the world. In return, we’ll receive a model for intentional living that we can replicate to ensure we are living each day to the fullest and making a difference for God’s kingdom. And together we’ll determine to embrace the abundant life we are promised in Jesus. It’s time to stop wandering and start living!

This volume, divided into three sections, begins by defining the concept of grace leadership, using biblical examples. Part two discusses how grace leadership develops while the last part of the book offers contemporary examples of leaders displaying grace to their employees. With cases from the military as well as organizational perspectives, this edited collection adds a new wrinkle to the leadership literature and will appeal to scholars in HRM and organizational studies.

This book was released on 2023-12-01 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is so much confusion and deception in the Church today. Just switch on the telly and you will see that Satan has largely succeeded in making a complete circus of the Church. There are so many false gospels, false doctrines, false teachers and false Christians. Even the true Bride has lost its way. Many are truly born again and trying hard to hold on, but they cannot understand why the Holy Spirit has been largely aloof in their lives, even for years. God knows those who are His, the true Bride, the good fish in the dragnet, the wheat, and this book is for them. This book is written for the beleaguered Bride to provide clear direction for her to find her way out of deception and back onto the narrow path that leads to Life. It is, in essence, an extended analogy which follows the trajectory of the journey of the Israelites from Egypt to Canaan, to unpack what experiences a Christian should expect as they progress on their own journey to eternal life. This is that journey which can only be made on the narrow path to life which Jesus spoke of, and of which He solemnly warned that few Christians would find. The book projects the Christian life as the protracted journey that it is, not a single life-changing incident somewhere in one’s past. Focusing on areas of deep confusion and deception in the Church, it takes a candid and profound, but practical look at those doctrines which are so fundamental to the Christian life, and which form practical landmark pillars along that journey - salvation, justification, the new birth, sanctification, perfection and glorification. It is the passionate will of Jesus Christ, through this book, to bring to His besieged true Bride, truth and clarity of understanding of these areas, so that she may regain the narrow road and begin to steadily move forward towards the goal of the crown of salvation, that coveted prize of the Christian journey, which the Apostle Paul diligently laboured for, spoke so passionately of and finally attained himself, as we all should and can. This first part of the book takes a very close look at exactly how God works in His children profoundly to transform them and get them into heaven. Laying out very clearly what God’s expectations of us are, it also looks at our part in this work that He does, both in us and through us, with a focus on how to practically overcome our flesh, our first enemy. Mark 6:34 "And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The book of Deuteronomy can rightly be called a compendium of the most important ideas of the Old Testament.” So begins this commentary on the book of Deuteronomy, which Bill Arnold treats as the heart of the Torah and the fulcrum of the Old Testament—crystallizing the themes of the first four books of the Bible and establishing the theological foundation of the books that follow. After a thorough introduction that explores these and other matters, Arnold provides an original translation of the first eleven chapters of Deuteronomy along with verse-by-verse commentary (with the translation and commentary of the remaining chapters following in a second volume). As with the other entries in the New International Commentary on the Old Testament, Arnold remains rooted in the book’s historical context while focusing on its meaning and use as Christian Scripture today. Ideal for pastors, students, scholars, and interested laypersons, this commentary is an authoritative yet accessible companion to the book of Deuteronomy.

The 24 journeys of this amazing book will answer this question as the author has answered his call from God to compile this work. His life of 60 years has taken him through many mountains and valleys. However, it was a huge mountain that nearly took his life on August 12,1996, in an underground coal mine near Buckhannon, West Virginia. But not even the huge mountain collapse on that fateful day could prevent Mr. Thomas from fulfilling his calling. While under all of the fallen layers of rock, his co-workers worked frantically to uncover him. They had little hope of him surviving the major roof collapse. Yet there was a miracle in the mountains that day in the coal fields of West Virginia. A miracle that many coal miners and government inspectors have remembered for years. Mr. Thomas survived this tragedy 26 years ago and has now completed this book.As you delve deeply into the contents of this book, the Holy Spirit will provide the comfort many are seeking in this world of fear and uncertainty. While it is now some 26 years later, it becomes perfectly clear that this book was to be written on God's timeline - and that time is now. So go to your quiet place and discover what God wants you to know in 2022!

Book excerpt: When her health failed she did what most Christians do; went forward for prayer and began seeing doctors. After 18 months, 11 doctors, and lots of prayer, she was worse, much worse. So she canceled all medical appointments, cried out to God, and was taken on an amazing journey. God helped her understand that it's pointless for Him to heal someone who doesn't know what's making them sick. Today she's well and hasn't been to a mainstream medical doctor for illness since 1989, though she is a grateful benefactor of their surgical skills post-trauma. Even then the knowledge she'd acquired helped her avoid pitfalls and enhance her recovery beyond the limits of mainstream medicine. Health is Wealth Back Cover of Book: In 1986 my seasonal allergies progressed in severity and became year-round while under a specialist's care. After pregnancy in late 1987 premenstrual symptoms were raging 25 days out of each month, including dramatic mood swings, infertility, and severe depression. This too was under the care of three doctors. In 1988 I was diagnosed with Advanced Cervical Degenerative Disc Disease and told by several doctors that my neck would be fused by 1992. Severe digestive issues and recurrent infections also became part of the mystery. I was told I'd need rotator cuff surgery for a shoulder that dislocated often and included severe episodes of bursitis. And in 1989 a diagnosis of Hashimoto's, an autoimmune thyroid disease, was added to the list. I had lots of names for my conditions, dismal predictions, illogical explanations, and no solutions until I canceled all my medical appointments and sought God. About the Author: Today Kathy is well and hasn't been to a mainstream medical doctor for illness since 1989. Kathy Bates is a licensed massage therapist utilizing many tools to bring improved health and appearance to her clients. She lives in Austin, Texas with her Mom, sister and two gorgeous, formerly stray, cats. A second book on reversing chronic pain is in the planning stage. This information became vital after a broken spine and subsequent injury that left her in intense pain for 11 years. Again, she is now well. "I can say with certainty that a timid, compliant person, who needs the approval of others would have failed in this mission. We should thank God for those who question the status quo, those who Steve Jobs says, "push the human race forward." Pam H. "The book is well written, intriguing, informative, comforting, alarming, and important." Kim T.

Book excerpt: The digital revolution has ushered in a series of sexual revolutions, all contributing to a perfect storm for modern relationships. Online dating, social media, internet pornography, and the phenomenon of the smartphone generation have created an avalanche of change with far-reaching consequences for sexuality today. The church has struggled to address this new moral ecology because it has focused on clarity of belief rather than quality of formation. The real challenge for spiritual formation lies in addressing the underlying moral intuitions we carry subconsciously, which are shaped by the convictions of our age. In this book, a fresh new voice offers a persuasive Christian vision of sex and relationships, calling young adults to faithful discipleship in a hypersexualized world. Drawing from his pastoral experience with young people and from cutting-edge research across multiple disciplines, Jonathan Grant helps Christian leaders understand the cultural forces that make the church's teaching on sex and relationships ineffective in the lives of today's young adults. He also sets forth pastoral strategies for addressing the underlying fault lines in modern sexuality.

It is projected that 40 percent of women currently 25 and younger will have difficulty conceiving a child or reaching a live birth. Amanda Hope Haley had married David, the man of her dreams, and earned a master’s degree from Harvard. She and David purchased their first home and settled down to start a family. All her hopes and dreams were coming true according to plan—until the family didn’t happen. After spending seven years begging God for a child, Amanda discovered that God gives only one hope: Jesus. Amanda having a baby wasn’t to be her happy ending. Finding wholeness by hoping only in God was her happy ending! Using Amanda’s personal stories, and the stories of other women who have struggled to have children, Barren Among the Fruitful surrounds those women struggling with infertility or miscarriage with a sense of community while providing honest facts. It leads women from confusion to understanding. Each chapter is titled with a well-meaning, but sometimes thoughtless comment Amanda was offered during her seven-year struggle with infertility. Features include: Personal stories from women who have struggled with infertility or miscarriage An honest look at the problem of infertility Questions for individual thought or group discussion
