Book excerpt: A number of B-physics results from the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider is reported. Measurements of b{anti b} production in p{anti p} interactions at (square root)s = 1800 GeV and 630 GeV are used to evaluate, for the first time with the same detector, the center-of-mass energy and rapidity dependence of b-quark production cross section. A measurement of the b{anti b} angular correlations using dimuon triggers is also presented. Preliminary results from these measurements are compared with the next-to-leading order QCD predictions. Finally, dimuon data samples are used to study P{sub T} and rapidity dependence of b-produced and direct charmonium production.

The results are from recently completed analyses of 198889 data and preliminary analyses of 1992--1993 data. This report includes new b cross section measurements using semileptonic b decays to muons, J/[psi] production in dimuon events, and a study of b{bar b} correlations in e[mu] events. The new results from CDF and D0 show no major discrepancies between the Tevatron data and the NLO QCD prediction for p{sub t} values down to 6 GeV.

Book excerpt: The authors report the latest results on the measurement of inclusive b quark and heavy quarkonium production by the DO collaboration in p{anti p} collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The results are from analyses of the 1992--93 data. This report includes measurements of inclusive b quark, J/[psi] and [Upsilon] meson production cross sections. The b quark production cross section, measured in inclusive muon data, is consistent with next to leading order QCD predictions within theoretical and experimental errors. They study J/[psi] and [Upsilon] meson production in dimuon events and perform an investigation of the J/[psi] production mechanisms. Including the latest developments in charmonium phenomenology, the J/[psi] production rates are now almost all accounted for in the transverse momentum range above 8 GeV/c. The observed [Upsilon] production rates, however, are higher than expected by a factor five.
