A year was devoted to this work. During that time representatives of the Division Of Commercial Research interviewed 262 manufacturers and 619 distributors and dealers, located in every part Of the country - traveling for this purpose an aggregate Of more than miles. The results Of the investigation, when compiled, com prised 2500 typewritten sheets, charts, maps, statistical tables, etc., incorporated in four volumes. Copies Of these volumes are on file in the Offices Of The Curtis Publishing Company. Since the completion Of the report, about one hundred conferences have been held with manufacturers Of auto mobiles and accessories for the purpose Of explaining and discussing the conclusions in such way as to make the work Of service to the industry.
