During his leisurely evening flight, he spots a robbery in progress at the local Toys R Toys. But why would a villain like the dreaded Ogre want to steal an entire shipment of Game Boxes? And why is the world's premier teenaged super team on hand to help Invincible stop him? And when did that girl in 3rd period science class get so cute? Book excerpt: Think! In Mark 12:24 Jesus said, "Are you not therefore deceived, not being acquainted with the Scriptures nor yet the Power of God?" Be knowing, the Scriptures are the Word - the complete expression of God's Thought and contain the Power of God's Thought. The Bible on the other hand is but the letter, men's letters, men's interpretations of the Scriptures and contain not the Power of God's Word but contain only the force of men's reasoning, men's intellect. One could say that the Bible is but the survey for the Scripture Digs. The Great Journey in Pursuit of Jesus' Way, Truth & Life is my personal daily journal during the years of 1998 and 1999. Everything I write is hand written so great care was taken in transcribing my written journal into this format. By great care I mean transcribing word for word along with their misspellings and errors so that it would allow you the reader to travel with me every day. In this journal I share what I took notice of and took notes on during my journey. Some things I perceived during this journey gave me new questions to question as well as answers to questions that I have repeatedly asked myself over many years. Travel with me through my 1998-1999 journal as we embark on this Great Journey in pursuit of Jesus' Way, Truth and Life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hi. If you are one to have given up wondering if the Tree of Knowledge, Tree of Life, Garden of Eden, and the Ark of the Testimony/Covenant were real or just fancy stories for children and the simple-minded, wonder no more. Our scientists found them and their identities are revealed here in full. There are three main characters in book: God, the invisible Designer God's First-born, the invisible Atom God's Helpers, the invisible Emotions. I ran across God's treasures accidentally while following the tracts of the ATOM that God left in the biblical record parabolically. God was fully aware of the atom when He declared in Genesis 1: 1 that "He created the heavens and earth." The "THE MAGNIFICENCE OF THE 3" title was deducted from a quote attributed to Nikola Tesla, a mechanical and electrical genius of an engineer who said: "If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6, and 9, then you would have the key to the universe". I am claiming that I found Tesla's magnificence of the 3, and it was a reference to the ATOM and its three particles: (1) positive proton (Good), (2) negative electron (Evil), and (3), neutral neutron (God). When I began researching for project, I was not looking for these biblical icons. Then one day, the ATOM popped up on my news feed and while admiring its mechanics, I immediately saw the parallel of its scientific structure, to the spiritual structure of the relationship God urged us to have with Him. Then I searched for the Atom in Biblical record and found it. This was unexpected but the claims are presented for your review. Once I saw the parallel, God's parabolic stories opened up for me. For example, how could Eve talk to a reptile? How could the devil turn the perfect humans against their Master on the first try? Why are innocent children born in sin if man was created perfect? Why were Abraham's descendants designated to be enslaved before Abraham had a son? If man was born to be immortal in the flesh, why was there a Tree of Life in the Garden? Who was Cain's wife and what was the mark God gave him? Was there a scientific meaning to the changes in diet after the flood? What were the meanings of the curse and blessing given by Noah to his three sons? Why would a loving, forgiving, and merciful God punish up to three and four generations of innocent children for the sins of the fathers? Who were the sons of gods and daughters of men? If the crucifixion was the truth, why isn't there any record of it except the New Testament? These are my personal questions that are dealt with in this book and many others. Book is compact with foundational information that better people will come along and expand upon for your benefit. Examples of scientific subjects involved are the atom, emotions, the Big Bang theory, the social brain hypothesis, the triune brain, neurons, evolution, and new scientific subjects such as the wood wide web, and epigenetics. In case you wonder about God's Omnipresence. Wonder no more as the secret is in the ATOM. Equip yourself properly as a Priest beginning with this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Elixir is a functional language that crosses many boundaries. With a syntax borrowing heavily from Ruby, a runtime that is on the Erlang BEAM, a macro system like that in Lisp, and a streaming library like you might find in Haskell, Elixir takes the best features from many environments. Elixir borrows from Erlang's "Let It Crash" philosophy, and adds significant improvements with structs, first-class hygienic macros, and abstractions such as protocols. Many of these ideas were borrowed from other communities, and they make a big difference in language adoption. This book gives you a quick guided tour through the fascinating world of Elixir! Explore Elixir with the author of Seven Languages in Seven Weeks. In this fast-paced book - first published with Groxio's Programmer Passport - you'll discover how Elixir's fantastic documentation, clear error messages, and excellent tooling make it approachable and easy to work with. Learn about techniques other books skip, like writing your own Mix task, and discover several blind spots that beginning and intermediate Elixir developers encounter. Effective Elixir depends on getting the most out of the most common datatypes - explore the most important ones before using them to write modules and different kinds of functions. Learn when to choose tuples, maps, or lists in your programs, and the most effective ways to access lists. Understand the differences between maps and keyword lists. Learn the primitives Elixir uses to start multiple processes and send messages between them. You'll finish the book by dabbling with the advanced techniques of streams, sigils, and macros. Find out what Groxio customers already know. The assistance of an experienced guide will help you learn Elixir more quickly than you could without one. What You Need: You'll need Elixir version 1.12 or greater.

Book excerpt: "Take one inventive genius indebted to the friend who saved his life; add an English aristocrat hopelessly consumed with a selfish and spiritually bankrupt woman; stir together with a Faustian pact to create the perfect woman--and voilà! Tomorrow's Eve is served. Robert Martin Adams's graceful translation is the first to bring to English readers this captivating fable of a Thomas Edison-like inventor and his creation, the radiant and tragic android Hadaly. Adams's introduction sketches the uncompromising idealism of the proud but penurious aristocrat Jean Marie Mathias Philippe Auguste, Count Villiers de l'Isle-Adam, a friend and admired colleague of Charles Baudelaire, Stèphane Mallarmé, and Richard Wagner. Villiers dazzles us with a gallery of electronic wonders while unsettling us with the implications of his (and our) increasingly mechanized and mechanical society. A witty and acerbic tale in which human nature, spiritual values, and scientific possibilities collide, Tomorrow's Eve retains an enduring freshness and edge." --Descripción del editor.

Book excerpt: The book comprises of some dialogues between Pierrot and the three empiricists, Locke, Berkeley and Hume, and as Pierrot discusses with them about the empiricism of colour, and he contrasts his own views on colour and experience with the three empiricists separately. Firstly, there are six dialogues between Pierrot and the empiricists about colour and empiricism. And secondly I have written some dialogues of Plato and Aristotle, and as Empedocles, Democritus and Epicurus have much to say on physics and metaphysics. And because Plato and Aristotle both advocate metaphysics, and Empedocles, Democritus and Epicurus, the three of them advocate physics, and they reject metaphysics. And furthermore, Empedocles, Democritus, and Epicurus, the three of them would like to differ with Aristotle on the physics of the world.

Book excerpt: The book concerns my views in ethics, politics and epistemology, and where i explain colour as either primary or secondary, and where primary colour is always a posteriori for the human being, and where secondary colour concerns the external world and the ideas within itself. For as i say, the ideas of a world, are as Berkeley says, abstract and pure as a priori,. Furthermore, i explain Democritus and the soul atoms, and what they mean for colour, and where we comment on the colour atoms. Where we also visit Epicurus and the atomic swerve, and where the atoms swerving are something which God cares, and where he does not always judge their way, and for the atoms are beyond what Jehovah can govern as the God of our world. furthermore, i have shared dialogues with both Homer and Virgil, and where Pierrot converses with either great poet. Lastly there is a dialogue between my Pierrot and Nietzsche, and where the comment on Lord Buddha, and where they both prefer him than Jesus Christ.

Book excerpt: There Were Nine of Them: men with the names Oppenheimer, Teller, Fermi, Bohr, Lawrence, Bethe, Rabi, Szilard, and Compton-brilliant men who believed in science and who saw before anyone else did the awesome workings of an invisible world. They came from many places, some fleeing Nazism in Europe, others quietly slipping out of university teaching jobs, all gathering in secret wartime laboratories to create the world's first atomic bomb. At one such place hidden away in the mountains of northern New Mexico-Los Alamos-they would crack the secret of the nuclear chain reaction and construct a device that incinerated a city and melted its victims so thoroughly that the only thing left was their scorched outlines on the sidewalks. During the war, few of the atomic scientists questioned the wisdom of their desperate endeavor. But afterward, they were forced to deal with the sobering legacy of their creation. Some were haunted by the dead of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and would become anti-nuclear weapons activists; others would go on to build bigger and even deadlier bombs. Some would remain friends; others would become bitter rivals and enemies. In explaining their lives and their struggles, Brian VanDeMark superbly illuminates the ways in which these brilliant and sensitive men came to terms with their horrific creation. The result is spectacular history and a moral investigation of the highest order.

Book excerpt: My essay on Colour and Nature, is where i explain the nature of our world, and i explain the world as a posteriori, and where in some respects the God is a priori for knowing. As well, i explain the nature of colour, and where i have worked on the thesis that all knowledge is derived through colour, and that all colour is derived through experience. Furthermore, i promote Buddha as the way, and as he proves the way for human nature and the following of hope, and as well, Jesus is a subject of my book, and where i explain more about his execution on the cross, and as i said, Pontius Pilate and the Jewish were not to blame about his execution, and it was the atoms which were to blame.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Psychoanalysis and the Small Screen examines the impact of cinema closures and the shift to small-screen consumption on our aesthetic and subjective desires during the COVID-19 pandemic from a Lacanian perspective. The chapters in this text hold a unique focus on the intersections of film, psychoanalysis, and the subjective implications of the shift from cinema to the small screen of domestic space. The subjects span historical and current Lacanian thinking, including the representation of psychoanalysis as artifice, Lacan appearing on television, the travails and tribulations of computer mediated analysis, the traumatrope, and the techno-inflected imagined social bond of what Jacques Lacan called the ‘alethosphere’. In this collection, the socio-cultural narratives and Real disruptions of the pandemic are framed as a function of the paradoxes of enjoyment characteristic of Lacanian psychoanalysis rather than merely the psychosocial repercussions of a planetary and contingent disaster. With contributions from practicing psychoanalysts, as well as academics working in related interdisciplinary areas, Psychoanalysis and the Small Screen will have appeal to readers of contemporary Lacanian work in general, to readers and researchers of contemporary psychoanalytic studies, and transdisciplinary and intersectional scholars engaged in psychoanalytic, cultural, and psycho-social research.
