Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is a compilation of the papers presented in the International Conference on Emerging Trends in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering (ETWREE 2017). The high quality papers are written by research scholars and academicians of prestigious institutes across India. The book discusses the challenges of water management due to misuse or abuse of water resources and the ever mounting challenges on use, reuse and conservation of water. It also discusses issues of water resources such as water quantity, quality, management and planning for the benefits of water resource scientists, faculties, policy makers, stake holders working in the water resources planning and management. The research content discussed in the book will be helpful for engineers to solve practical day to day problems related to water and environmental engineering.

Book Synopsis Observation des surfaces continentales par télédétection II by : Nicolas Baghdadi
Download or read book Observation des surfaces continentales par télédétection II written by Nicolas Baghdadi and published by ISTE Group. This book was released on 2016-12-01 with total page 445 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis GRACE, Remote Sensing and Ground-based Methods in Multi-scale Hydrology by : International Association of Hydrological Sciences
Download or read book GRACE, Remote Sensing and Ground-based Methods in Multi-scale Hydrology written by International Association of Hydrological Sciences and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent advances in measuring hydrological variability by means of the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission, and other remote sensing platforms (TRMM, Landsat and MODIS), offer great potential for estimating spatio-temporal surface water balances, spatially-averaged water budgets, hydrodynamics, hydrological processes, and characterization of groundwater systems in gauged and ungauged basins, at regional and global scales. In parallel, advances in ground-based measurement techniques, such as distributed temperature sensing and geological-weighing lysimeters, are being incorporated into research and practice for determining hydrological parameters. Collectively, the 30 peer-reviewed papers provide an overview of these techniques and their use with hydrological models for understanding multi-scale hydrological processes
Book Synopsis Flash Flood Forecasting Over Complex Terrain by : National Research Council
Download or read book Flash Flood Forecasting Over Complex Terrain written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2005-01-28 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The nation's network of more than 130 Next Generation Radars (NEXRADs) is used to detect wind and precipitation to help National Weather Service forecasters monitor and predict flash floods and other storms. This book assesses the performance of the Sulphur Mountain NEXRAD in Southern California, which has been scrutinized for its ability to detect precipitation in the atmosphere below 6000 feet. The book finds that the Sulphur Mountain NEXRAD provides crucial coverage of the lower atmosphere and is appropriately situated to assist the Los Angeles-Oxnard National Weather Service Forecast Office in successfully forecasting and warning of flash floods. The book concludes that, in general, NEXRAD technology is effective in mountainous terrain but can be improved.
