Dennoch fällt bei Untersuchungen zum deutschen Schulsystem immer wieder auf, dass Schülerinnen und Schüler unterschiedlich stark ausgeprägte Zukunftsperspektiven aufweisen, welche auf eine Bildungsungleichheit zurückzuführen sind. Seit rund 100 Jahren wird stetig daran gearbeitet das Bildungssystem in Deutschland zu verbessern und für eine Bildungsgleichheit zu sorgen. Zum einen gibt es starke qualitative Unterschiede des Bildungsniveaus zwischen den einzelnen Bundesländern, was unter anderem damit zusammenhängt, dass die Bildungsentscheidungen größtenteils den Ländern obliegen. So ist es beispielsweise schwierig mit einem Abitur aus Hamburg einen Studienplatz in Bayern zu bekommen, da sich in diesen beiden Bundesländern das Niveau zum Erreichen des Abiturs stark unterscheidet. Zum anderen herrschen aber auch im regionalen Vergleich große Unterschiede in Bezug auf die Chancen auf Bildung. Während die Chancengleichheit im Schulsystem bezogen auf das Geschlecht durch stetige Anpassung als mittlerweile gewährleistet und ausgeglichen angesehen werden kann, sind Kinder mit Migrationshintergrund oder aus Armutsverhältnissen weiterhin stark benachteiligt gegenüber anderen. Dies wird besonders deutlich, wenn man Kinder unterschiedlicher Familien innerhalb der selben Stadt miteinander vergleicht. Aufgrund dessen setzt sich die folgende Arbeit damit auseinander, welchen Einfluss Armut in der segregierten Stadt auf die Bildungschancen der betroffenen Kinder hat. Hierbei soll herausgearbeitet werden, wie die Gruppe der von Armut betroffenen Familien Zustande kommt, wodurch sie sich kennzeichnen und weshalb die Kinder dieser Familien in ihren Bildungschancen benachteiligt sind. Zeitgleich sollen aber auch Lösungsansätze aufgezeigt werden, die das Ziel haben für eine Bildungsgleichheit und somit für mehr Fairness im Hinblick auf die Zukunftsperspektiven zu sorgen. Als Ausgangspunkt für diese Ausarbeitung dienen Recherchen und Statistiken.

In the literature, migrant domestic workers are often described as being subject to racial discrimination, labour exploitation and exclusion from mainstream society. Here, the author provides a more nuanced account and shows how Filipina caregivers in Israel have succeeded in creating their own collective spaces, as well as negotiating rights and belonging. While maintaining transnational ties and engaging in border-crossing journeys, these women seek to fulfill their dreams of a better life. During this process, new socialities and subjectivities emerge that point to a form of global citizenship in the making, consisting of greater social, economic and political rights within a highly gendered and racialized global economy.
