Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."Martin Luther King Jr. One of the things that matter the most in every generation is leadership, which primarily is an influence. Successes and failures have always been traceable either directly or indirectly to the influence of leadership in every generation. As a leader, I strongly believe that one of the major reasons behind the under-development of our African continent in this 21st Century is the unwillingness of the Church to take its leading role in restoring the Kingdom to the society. Like the Biblical Israelites of the Moses Generation, who failed to enter their Promised Land, we have pitched our tents in the wilderness and refused to go any further but in circles. There is a land waiting for you to conquer and possess; a territory to take over for the Kingdom. Like Joshua, our generation is called of God to conquer new territories and expand the influence of the Kingdom to a higher horizon. You're a person of destiny. You're saved to save a nation; redeemed to redeem the earth to God; restored to restore the Kingdom to your society. Let's not stop at salvation only; let's bring salvation to our nation. We need to bring the Kingdom of God into every sphere of our society in order to overcome the darkness and restore the light. We are called to translate the realities of our kingdom life into tangible products reflecting the glory of our King and bettering the lives of others. This book is simply an expression of my deep scriptural convictions and experience. It's a clarion call to the sons of Issachar, who have an understanding of the times, to arise and take their place like a Joshua generation. I believe that God is changing the guards and the baton is being passed over, but are you ready to lead your generation into their Promised Land, or are you stuck with the Moses generation who are doomed to die in the wilderness though saved? I charge you to come out of the wilderness, take your place in leading your generation into their Promised Land, and I will be showing you how this can be achieved. In this book you'll discover: Facts about the Moses generation Understanding the Joshua generation Evil doctrines of Moses generation Embracing a Joshua generation leader The mindset of a Joshua generation The attitude of the Joshua generation Loyalty is first to God The wilderness experience Discovering your promised land In what condition will death meet you

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In his writing, Purpose Passion & Pursuit, Peter E. Donaldson intelligently and quite eloquently stirs the nest of complacency and challenges us to make the rest the best: You are worth as much as you think you are worth. So why devalue yourself? In Chapter 5, Puzzle Pieces, he explores the concept and understanding of purpose by examining three rudiments being: Origin, Process, and Time. In this section, he brilliantly unfolds the truth that our purpose has everything to do with Gods divine plan and nothing to do with happenstance. If youre like me, then youre all about obtaining a better, more fulfilled life. If youre looking for the place where you really fit and can be your authentic you, then read on! (Pastor Richard J. Brown, Kingsway Community Life Centre). Peters sage words come to us out of the abundance of his lived experience with God. Even more, they come at a time when people, the world over, are searching in every corner for true meaning in life. Chapter after chapter, like a teacher who expounds knowledge, he lays a new plank upon which the foundation of pursuing purpose is built. In these pages, his encounters with God unfold as they are seasoned with his unabashed belief in the Word of God, which gives weight and authority to them. What a captivating read! Honestly, where was this book, with these transforming expressions, when I was assessing the rudiments of my own destiny and just launching out into life? Thats precisely the point. Pursuing your best life doesnt begin today and end tomorrowits a lifetime experience that uncovers Gods supreme destiny for you. If after reading this prophetic volume, you are challenged to change the trajectory of your life, then it was well worth the read. If not, I invite you to pick it up again and comb through these pages to fully grasp how it is certainly possible to passionately pursue your God-ordained purpose. As a result, your life, obviously, will never be the same again! (Pastor John M. Scott, Director, Youth/Young Adult Ministries, Ontario Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists).

This first book in the series leads the reader into engaging the Father in intimacy as His beloved son or daughter. Through personal testimony, insightful explanation and guided activations, Mike Parsons demonstrates how everyone can experience the joy of living their daily life in intimacy with God and, like Jesus, only doing the things they see the Father doing.

Book excerpt: Back 2 God: Americas Last Chance, and exploration by Dexter Sanders of the distinctive history and destiny of the United States, entwines the authors passion for his calling from God to serve as an evangelist with the insights that arise from his education and expertise as an educator. The works historical review demonstrates how the drift of modern history has pulled the United States away from its ties to the Christian faith. His a call to action invites the people of this nation to change the direction of their lives. As the author writes, The only way God will continue to fight for us is if we return to Him and stand up for His principles, morals, and values in this country. In a time when many feel tempted to despair, Back 2 God: Americas Last Chance states clearly that while the United States has drifted away from its moorings, all is not lost. On the contrary, Gods calling to come back to the foundations of our culturethe precepts flowing from Gods wordshould bring this country to a new dawn rather than to the sunset of its history.

Book excerpt: "In approaching the study of one of the books of Scripture it must be of considerable help to the student if he can ascertain what is its main design and what is its outstanding topic. As pointed out in the pages in our Introduction to Exodus each book in the Bible has a prominent and dominant theme which, as such, is peculiar to itself, around which everything is made to center and of which all the details are but the amplification. What that leading subject may be, we should make it our business to prayerfully and diligently ascertain. This can best be discovered by reading and re-reading the book under review, noting carefully any particular feature or expression which occurs frequently in it-such as "under the sun" in Ecclesiastes or "the righteousness of God" in Romans. "The book of Joshua records one of the most interesting and important portions of Israel's history. It treats of the period of their estatement as a nation, of which Genesis was prophetic and the rest of the Pentateuch immediately preparatory. The books of Moses would be imperfect without this one: as it is the capstone of them, so it is the foundation of those which follow. Omit Joshua and there is a gap left in the sacred history which nothing could supply. Without it what proceeds would be incomprehensible and what follows unexplained. The sacred writer was directed to fill that gap by narrating the conquest and apportionment of the Promised Land. Thus this book may be contemplated from two distinct but closely related standpoints: first as the end of Israel's trials and wanderings in the wilderness, and second as the beginning of their new life in the land. It is that twofold viewpoint which supplies the clue to its spiritual interpretation, as it alone solves the problem which so many have found puzzling in this book." Arthur Walkington Pink was an English Christian evangelist and Biblical scholar known for his staunchly Calvinist and Puritan-like teachings. Though born to Christian parents, prior to conversion he migrated into a Theosophical society (an occult gnostic group popular in England during that time), and quickly rose in prominence within their ranks. His conversion came from his father's patient admonitions from Scripture. It was the verse, Proverbs 14:12, 'there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death, ' which particularly struck his heart and compelled him to renounce Theosophy and follow Jesus.

Book excerpt: Chinese medicine approaches emotions and emotional disorders differently than the Western biomedical model. Transforming Emotions with Chinese Medicine offers an ethnographic account of emotion-related disorders as they are conceived, talked about, experienced, and treated in clinics of Chinese medicine in contemporary China. While Chinese medicine (zhongyi) has been predominantly categorized as herbal therapy that treats physical disorders, it is also well known that Chinese patients routinely go to zhongyi clinics for treatment of illness that might be diagnosed as psychological or emotional in the West. Through participant observation, interviews, case studies, and zhongyi publications, both classic and modern, the author explores the Chinese notion of "body-person," unravels cultural constructions of emotion, and examines the way Chinese medicine manipulates body-mind connections.
