Logique de soin, logique d'évaluation ou logique de coût ? En tout état de cause, les moyens mis en œuvre pour réaliser cette maîtrise des dépenses ne devraient pas méconnaître la complexité de cette discipline. A l'heure où le PMSI n'est toujours pas appliqué en psychiatrie infanto-juvénile, cet ouvrage collectif souhaite rendre compte des réflexions qui ont été menées par un ensemble de collègues au sein d'un groupe de travail qui s'est réuni au Centre Alfred-Binet à Paris, à partir de 1997, et cela, pendant plusieurs années. Ces diverses contributions sont susceptibles, nous semble-t-il, de fournir une base de travail utile pour la réflexion nécessaire quant à l'avenir de la psychiatrie infanto-juvénile, laquelle ne peut être considérée comme une discipline médicale comme les autres, et qui appelle des modalités d'évaluation spécifiques si l'on souhaite lui conserver sa dimension clinique et éthique fondamentale.
