This book was released on 2011-07-26 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since from more than a century, the study of various types of integral equations and inequalities has been focus of great attention by many researchers, interested both in theory and its applications. In particular, there exists a very rich literature related to the integral equations and inequalities and their applications. The present monograph is an attempt to organize recent progress related to the Multidimensional integral equations and inequalities, which we hope will widen the scope of their new applications. The field to be covered is extremely wide and it is nearly impossible to treat all of them here. The material included in the monograph is recent and hard to find in other books. It is accessible to any reader with reasonable background in real analysis and acquaintance with its related areas. All results are presented in an elementary way and the book could also serve as a textbook for an advanced graduate course. The book deserves a warm welcome to those who wish to learn the subject and it will also be most valuable as a source of reference in the field. It will be an invaluable reading for mathematicians, physicists and engineers and also for graduate students, scientists and scholars wishing to keep abreast of this important area of research.

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended for &tudents, research engineers, and mathematicians interested in applications or numerical analysis. Pure analysts will also find some new problems to tackle. Most of the material can be understood by a reader with a relatively modest knowledge of differential and inte gral equations and functional analysis. Readers interested in stochastic optimization will find a new theory of prac tical . importance. Readers interested in problems of static and quasi-static electrodynamics, wave scattering by small bodies of arbitrary shape, and corresponding applications in geophysics, optics, and radiophysics will find explicit analytical formulas for the scattering matrix, polarizability tensor, electrical capacitance of bodies of an arbitrary shape; numerical examples showing the practical utility of these formulas; two-sided variational estimates for the pol arizability tensor; and some open problems such as working out a standard program for calculating the capacitance and polarizability of bodies of arbitrary shape and numerical calculation of multiple integrals with weak singularities. Readers interested in nonlinear vibration theory will find a new method for qualitative study of stationary regimes in the general one-loop passive nonlinear network, including stabil ity in the large, convergence, and an iterative process for calculation the stationary regime. No assumptions concerning the smallness of the nonlinearity or the filter property of the linear one-port are made. New results in the theory of nonlinear operator equations form the basis for the study.

Book excerpt: From the reviews of the First Edition: "Extremely clear, self-contained text . . . offers to a wide class of readers the theoretical foundations and the modern numerical methods of the theory of linear integral equations."-Revue Roumaine de Mathematiques Pures et Appliquées. Abdul Jerri has revised his highly applied book to make it even more useful for scientists and engineers, as well as mathematicians. Covering the fundamental ideas and techniques at a level accessible to anyone with a solid undergraduate background in calculus and differential equations, Dr. Jerri clearly demonstrates how to use integral equations to solve real-world engineering and physics problems. This edition provides precise guidelines to the basic methods of solutions, details more varied numerical methods, and substantially boosts the total of practical examples and exercises. Plus, it features added emphasis on the basic theorems for the existence and uniqueness of solutions of integral equations and points out the interrelation between differentiation and integration. Other features include: * A new section on integral equations in higher dimensions. * An improved presentation of the Laplace and Fourier transforms. * A new detailed section for Fredholm integral equations of the first kind. * A new chapter covering the basic higher quadrature numerical integration rules. * A concise introduction to linear and nonlinear integral equations. * Clear examples of singular integral equations and their solutions. * A student's solutions manual available directly from the author.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In preparing this translation for publication certain minor modifications and additions have been introduced into the original Russian text, in order to increase its readibility and usefulness. Thus, instead of the first person, the third person has been used throughout; wherever possible footnotes have been included with the main text. The chapters and their subsections of the Russian edition have been renamed parts and chapters respectively and the last have been numbered consecutively. An authors and subject index has been added. In particular, the former has been combined with the list of references of the original text, in order to enable the reader to find quickly all information on anyone reference in which he may be especially interested. This has been considered most important with a view to the difficulties experienced outside Russia in obtaining references, published in that country. Russian names have been printed in Russian letters in the authors index, in order to overcome any possible confusion arising from transliteration.

Book Synopsis Integral Equations: A Practical Treatment, from Spectral Theory to Applications by : David Porter
Download or read book Integral Equations: A Practical Treatment, from Spectral Theory to Applications written by David Porter and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives a rigorous and practical treatment of integral equations. These are significant because they occur in many problems in mathematics, physics and engineering and they offer a powerful (sometimes the only) technique for solving these problems. The book aims to tackle the solution of integral equations using a blend of abstract 'structural' results and more direct, down-to-earth mathematics. The interplay between these two approaches is a central feature of the text and it allows a thorough account to be given of many of the types of integral equation which arise in application areas. Since it is not always possible to find explicit solutions of the problems posed, much attention is devoted to obtaining qualitative information and approximations to the solutions, with the associated error estimates. This treatment is intended for final year mathematics undergraduates, postgraduates and research workers in application areas such as numerical analysis and fluid mechanics.

Book Synopsis Singular Integral Equations by : E.G. Ladopoulos
Download or read book Singular Integral Equations written by E.G. Ladopoulos and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-03-12 with total page 552 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present book deals with the finite-part singular integral equations, the multidimensional singular integral equations and the non-linear singular integral equations, which are currently used in many fields of engineering mechanics with applied character, like elasticity, plasticity, thermoelastoplasticity, viscoelasticity, viscoplasticity, fracture mechanics, structural analysis, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics and elastodynamics. These types of singular integral equations form the latest high technology on the solution of very important problems of solid and fluid mechanics and therefore special attention should be given by the reader of the present book, who is interested for the new technology of the twentieth-one century. Chapter 1 is devoted with a historical report and an extended outline of References, for the finite-part singular integral equations, the multidimensional singular integral equations and the non-linear singular integral equations. Chapter 2 provides a finite-part singular integral representation analysis in Lp spaces and in general Hilbert spaces. In the same Chapter are investigated all possible approximation methods for the numerical evaluation of the finite-part singular integral equations, as closed form solutions for the above type of integral equations are available only in simple cases. Also, Chapter 2 provides further a generalization of the well known Sokhotski-Plemelj formulae and the Nother theorems, for the case of a finite-part singular integral equation.
