Book excerpt: God is progressively releasing into the earth powerful apostolic and prophetic anointings, and is restoring the apostolic nature of the church itself Every Christian needs to prayerfully consider the message of this book, and hear what the Spirit is saying to the church. The change is ongoing, and God is acting in the history of the church and nations. The Apostolic Revelation unveils a series of dynamic concepts that are crucial to the life of the church and the restoration of its apostolic power. It establishes benchmarks for the apostolic ministry, and gives definition to the apostolic structure of the church. Here is a revelation of apostolic methods, and God's heart for the church and its leadership. In this study, today's apostolic message is harmonised with and grounded in the apostolic revelation of Christ given to Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles. This work is the result of 13 years of inquiry, searching the mind of the Spirit regarding the place of apostles today, and seeking to understand what it means for the church to be the mature apostolic church. Apostolic grace is for every believer. This book seeks to equip you to receive a greater grace, and prepare you for the astounding days ahead.

Book excerpt: There are millions of Christian women who have heard the call of God to ministry. They are ready, willing and able to preach the gospel and make disciples. However, many of them have been discouraged from doing these very things not by the world but by the church. This book was written to help women understand and answer the call to apostolic ministry. Its purpose is to both clarify the nature of apostolic ministry and to help women recognize that they are to work alongside the men in the church to fulfill the Great Commission: preaching the gospel, making disciples, and leading the Body of Christ into its future.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is open access under a CC BY-NC-ND license. This book reveals exciting early Christian evidence that Mary was remembered as a powerful role model for women leaders—women apostles, baptizers, and presiders at the ritual meal. Early Christian art portrays Mary and other women clergy serving as deacon, presbyter/priest, and bishop. In addition, the two oldest surviving artifacts to depict people at an altar table inside a real church depict women and men in a gender-parallel liturgy inside two of the most important churches in Christendom—Old Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome and the second Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. Dr. Kateusz’s research brings to light centuries of censorship, both ancient and modern, and debunks the modern imagination that from the beginning only men were apostles and clergy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was inspired by the Holy Ghost, for God's people perish for the lack of knowledge. As Believers, we should live a life that is purposeful for the kingdom of God. Although we have seen evidence in the earth that God does not have respect of persons, it is still challenging for God's people to distinguish between God's plan and personal views. This writing is centered on facts. God uses whom He will because he is sovereign and almighty. Let's refer to Scripture. For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). It is an honor and privilege to be called by God. Our God in His infinite wisdom already knew what it would require for His plans in the kingdom to be fulfilled. As we read in the book of Genesis, it was God who created all things using His authority and the power of His spoken word. If you can accept creation coming into being through the spoken word of God, then why is it so challenging for many to believe the same God spoke the apostolic woman into existence? The office of Apostle has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with God's authority to choose whom He will, for He is sovereign. Many times we miss the move of God, for we are hindered by the package in which His word is presented. We must be careful not to miss the message, due to issues accepting the messenger. God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called (Romans 8:28-30). When we begin to study this scripture more in-depth, it is evident that God's plan did not decipher between sex and gender but was preordained for the called-those whom He foreknew and predestined to be conformed to the image of His son. I am eternally grateful knowing the Lord is faithful and will fulfill His purpose in me! When I reflect upon the trials which I have been forced to endure, it was all in God's plan.

It carefully situates the tomb art within the cultural context of customary Roman commemorations of the dead and provides an in-depth review of women‘s history in the first four centuries of Christianity. From this, a fascinating picture emerges of women‘s authority in the early church--a picture either not readily available or recognized, or even sadly distorted in the written history.

Book excerpt: The name "Junia" appears in Romans 16:7, and Paul identifies her (along with Andronicus) as "prominent among the apostles." In this important work, Epp investigates the mysterious disappearance of Junia from the traditions of the church. Because later theologians and scribes could not believe (or wanted to suppress) that Paul had numbered a woman among the earliest churches' apostles, Junia's name was changed in Romans to a masculine form. Despite the fact that the earliest churches met in homes and that other women were clearly leaders in the churches (e.g., Prisca and Lydia), calling Junia an apostle seemed too much for the tradition. Epp tracks how this happened in New Testament manuscripts, scribal traditions, and translations of the Bible. In this thoroughgoing study, Epp restores Junia to her rightful place.

Yet the twenty-first and the fourteenth centuries have much in common: a church racked by divisions and scandals...a world torn by war and violence and ravaged by disease. But now, as then, God stands ready to raise up women courageous and compassionate enough to speak the truth. Catherine's authority, like that of faithful women in every age, was rooted in her vocation, her wisdom, and her deep compassion. In Speaking with Authority, a revised and expanded version of her Madeleva Lecture, theologian Mary Catherine Hilkert presents Catherine of Siena as a challenge and inspiration for today's women-and men-to take up the struggle to speak the truth of the gospel in the church and in the world. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: USA Today Bestseller Christianity Today 2022 Book Award Finalist (History & Biography) "A powerful work of skillful research and personal insight."--Publishers Weekly Biblical womanhood--the belief that God designed women to be submissive wives, virtuous mothers, and joyful homemakers--pervades North American Christianity. From choices about careers to roles in local churches to relationship dynamics, this belief shapes the everyday lives of evangelical women. Yet biblical womanhood isn't biblical, says Baylor University historian Beth Allison Barr. It arose from a series of clearly definable historical moments. This book moves the conversation about biblical womanhood beyond Greek grammar and into the realm of church history--ancient, medieval, and modern--to show that this belief is not divinely ordained but a product of human civilization that continues to creep into the church. Barr's historical insights provide context for contemporary teachings about women's roles in the church and help move the conversation forward. Interweaving her story as a Baptist pastor's wife, Barr sheds light on the #ChurchToo movement and abuse scandals in Southern Baptist circles and the broader evangelical world, helping readers understand why biblical womanhood is more about human power structures than the message of Christ.
